During the Winter War, the Soviets did directly breakthrough the Mannerheim in Feb 1940. They advanced some 15 km past it to Vyborg (Viipuri), and that is when Finland started negotiations. Soviets declined to keep preasure on them, and in mid-March a peace treaty was signed.

EDIT: I have found you are referring to (from Wiki): 'The Soviets tried to cross the ice of the Gulf of Viipuri and come up behind the city, but the Finnish coastal artillery fired their heaviest guns, breaking the ice under the Soviets and preventing a clean breakthrough.' I believe this happened before they broke through Mannerheim in Feb 1940.

EDIT: I'm not sure what this means, and no one else probably knows what this means either, but it sounds like you are upset about something and referencing me because I made a comment about the Soviet-Finnish Winter War. I stated Soviet's broke through the Mannerheim Line, you stated Soviet's never broke through the Mannerheim Line, and I stated the above so the OP would know that they did indeed break through. Such an off-the-wall statement to my clarification of my original statement is a bit odd.

I also needed to place the amphibious tanks where it would look like they swam across and so that the AI wouldn't just use them just like any other unit: in a vain attack against the Finns.

One thing that Ii have never gotten to is a Soviet bomber. It's kinda stupid, when I stop to think about it, but I never feel like dealing with figuring out the sounds or stats.

EDIT: Check the German and Soviet units around Poland: They are all named and placed (hopefully) accurately. I am still working on the Polish side, but what is there is the general placement.

No Soviet Bombers? It's going to suck to be them. You could probably get away with adding just the Tupolev SB (39-41) and Petlyakov Pe-2 (41-45) since those were the bombers produced in greatest numbers (I believe). Or just using generic bombers. I'm not sure how you are working bomber numbers though.

Indeed, placement looks correct according to the OOB, Poland was a little more confusing to do (for me at least) until I found a good OOB map showing their placements.

Well, I have put Pe-2 into it, but it is not available untill later in the game. I have the animations for the Il-4, DB-3F, and SB-2 but have been too lazy to add them in.

I'll show you the finished placement of the Polish troops, once I'm finished of course.

Hi Tom ! Reading this brings me the idea that you (or other members) might have/know a map ,where I can see how the Armys/Units of the World are placed nowadays ??? The map should be as exact as possible.

That would help me a lot making a map of my own. In the moment I want to use a 160x160 Earth map ,because of gameplay speed. Maybe the one from TCW ,which I know that it offers a fantastic gameplay with turn wait times that are acceptable.

You mean a current OOB for 2009? If I had to guess, a detailed map of the world OOB for 2009 would probably be somewhat tough to find (if one even exists). For Germany/Soviet invasion of Poland, I suppose there was a pretty detailed map showing OOB because of it's significance. The large majority though, I have to sift through data and try to figure out where units were, since no maps.

A quick google search didn't bring to much up for me in form of maps, you would probably have to get regular OOB's and figure out locations from there by country.

Perhaps someone else may have more info though.

I used the Wikipedia OOB (Order of Battle, if you don't know) maps and tables to figure out where to put the units, and what kind to put. I still haven't found a good one for the Luftwaffe.

Spoiler :
As for the name, in case you were wondering, it started when I was making a mod on another of my computers: I was making it and didn't feel like making up a name, so I named it 'Game'. I later found that I had made a typo so it said 'Gme', and it stuck.

Try this http://niehorster.orbat.com/000_admin/000oob.htm for WW2 OOB's.
It has a pretty well detailed OOB for Luftwaffe, plane types, their locations, and their numbers. the Luftwaffe OOB page for 1939 is below:
