Name this cat!

Well, after a bit of wrangling and strident input from our soon to be home daughter, we have selected a name. The final group was: slinky, stroke (the cat), lightning, salud, reveille and gotee (derived from black beard). The final, decision-making epiphany occurred while my wife was walking today.

One of the traits we like in a cat is its willingness to sleep on the bed. This cat has done so without coaxing since Saturday. Today, she realized that with this fine trait came one more...

Spoiler :
Reveille...a wake up call

Our hearty thanks to all of you
Who this thread did not eschew;
At the price of post count creep
You helped our search to complete
An important quest not in vain--
And a grateful kitty now has a name.

:hatsoff:

how do you pronounce it out of interest? its probably fairly obvious
Reveille is pronounced "rev el lee" and is the bugle song used in the army to wake up soldiers.

From M-W.com
reveille
Main Entry: rev·eil·le
Pronunciation: 're-v&-lE, British ri-'va-li or -'ve-
Function: noun
Etymology: modification of French réveillez, imperative plural of réveiller to awaken, from Middle French reveiller, from re- + eveiller to awaken, from (assumed) Vulgar Latin exvigilare, from Latin ex- + vigilare to keep watch, stay awake -- more at VIGILANT
1 : a signal to get up mornings
2 : a bugle call at about sunrise signaling the first military formation of the day; also : the formation so signaled

With some irony, I must admit that Reveille is also the name of a rap metal band (two of my least favorite music types); see my opening post. :crazyeye:
