I have noticed that Beshbalik appears to have a trade route with Frankfurt, but...uh..."extensive discussions" with their traders has failed to reveal its location. (Presumably it's in what appears to be the south-west corner of our continent under the blackout, otherwise their cultural boundaries would show up on the map?)

We won't see a city's borders until we see it through the fog, even if we've already explored there. So it could be anywhere that's fogged out. And since the river that runs through Old Sarai and Ning-Hsia goes to Berlin, all of our cities hooked up to our national network (which would be all except Kora) have a possible route to any city connected to Berlin. The same is true with Russia's internal trade route.

And to answer Dimaliok, I usually only update after every other TC unless there was a major change. Also, work sometimes takes me away from my home computer (and cIV) for several days at a time. The date is there so you know the screenshots about power etc are 8 turns old.

Ah. Thanks, that's very useful to know. I thik we really need to send out some spies - possibly to Russia, southern Germany and eastern Germany/east of Toot Uncommon. We might find we're a lot more hemmed in by the Germans than we think.
