NCSG2 - ideas and suggestions

Eh, grandad, I would go for Monarch. I'm not really into having two different games. And Pigswill, since we have like 8-9, yes, I think we are looking for one or two.

And Grandad, add Rex, and maybe SimonL, he checked in a few times in the current SG.

Sure pigswill, I have no problems with a couple more players :D
We're probably running 2 simultaneously since we have so many. Having a 10 person roster doesn't give anyone enough turns overall.

Lincoln should be one of my favourite leaders, despite the fact that I have never actually played with him. Phil gets us more great peeps, which is very nice if we are gunning for a pure SE, which is actually something I'd like to try (cottages are for whimps!). And Char is my goto trait for :hammer::hammer::hammer:. All around good times.

Your in Pigswill.

It was nice playing with you Rex. FfH looks pretty interesting!

The mod I want to play is the Warhammer Fantasy mod but its not a BTS release - I think - and also its still in the beta test stage :(

Oh well.

I'd love SimonL to join in but I get the impression real life keeps him pretty busy so he might not want to join in. If your out there SimonL and you want in just shout out!

I'll put up monarch lincoln soon. What map are we looking for? I'd wanna do Continents/Hemispheres.

Krick:
I'd wait until we have the rosters sorted out. We may have to run parallel games if there's enough people.

My vote is for a hemispheres map with 3 continents so we can leverage SEALs

I'd like to join, if you're still taking players.

This would be my first SG, so hopefully I wouldn't be holding anyone back. I'm very easy going with respect to leaders/variants/difficulty.

Cheers!

Welcome aol. :)

So thats 8 players signed up, enough for two teams of 4. Personally I think 5 per team is the magic number, but 4 is okay too.

Teams of 4 are good for quicker turnaround, which we may actually be helpful for learning strategies, as each player will have more turnsets to run with. It'll also ensure that everyone gets a shot at war.

Teams of 5 are fairly standard in SGs though, so if we want to, we could wait for two more and go with that.

At any rate, we'll need to split into two teams, and have a captain for each. I think someone said we want to sort in such a way so we have fairly equal teams.

And welcome to CivFanatics aol!

Yer those team sound pretty fly to me.

Can we have are own team names?

I like the sound of grandads heros....

Also welcome on board aol!! Nice to have you with us!!! As for your first SG, this will be my second so I'm no vet either!

I'm serious about the names by the way. We should have our own team names.

Also for map I'm happy with 3 hemisheres. I'd say varried continents as that will spice it up for exploring.

Are we going for a no cottage game? I'd be in for that.

My only note of caution is that I'll be starting a new college course on monday (I just got excepted to train as a tree surgeon!). What with working and socialising, as well as college, my free time might be about to take a hit :( I should all work out but might be bumpy for a week or two so bear with me!!

One last thing, are we going to change how we work the turns? Or should that be down to each teams choice?

Oh and again. What about check in points for each team to compare progess/ideas/anything? are the going to be fuzzy like 2/3 city and Lib etc? Or more ridged like 2000BC/10AD etc?

5 sounds good, I think we should wait for 2 more, but we can start now, and the next 2 players can join at the end of the rotation, if needed.

Are we both going to play the same save? I think thats a cool idea, but I admit I am a n00b at this format so it may not be as workable. If we do play it like that, we shouldnt have a comparison point until at least 100 AD, then maybe another at Lib, and another at Biology or something.

Yer I think having slighty more fuzzy check points is a good idea. Lib is a natural choce IMO. Bio would work well too, as we'll all want the food for our no cottage economies.

First checkpoint, if done by date needs to be at a point where all pre astro AIs have been met. 100AD or so might be ok for that I guess.

Early checkpoints can be a bit unbalanced as different teams/players will have different exploration patterns and tech paths e.g. one team discovers IW, the other team learns where the iron is without researching the tech first.

This ought to be interesting. Lincoln the American with no cottages O.o. I'm thinking if it gets that far, State Property might be the best choice

Basics:
Lincoln
Hemispheres-3 Cont., Varied Cont.
Monarch
No cottages

Put up the saves. Check in guys!
