okay ... started fiddleing with Emperor after i totally mowed everything in sight with Cuissarisers in my last monach game while hitting up a few still sporting archers ... time to raise the bar

after a few bongus starts (no stategic reasouces, overwhelming barbs, aggessive expanding enemies) i've rolled a fairly decent start with my fav leader atm ... Hatty :p

Spoiler pictures :

just bulbed Phil with a sleeping GS, after getting CoL and stealing Math from Surya (settled GSpy in Thebes which i got from GW)
but i need some pointers where i go from where i'm now ... my initial plan might very well be a good training session with a medival army consisting of Maces, trebs and some phants (if i can talk my friends to friendly so they'll sell me their spare) against Giggles which is hosting the biggest (as far as i can count) but the most backward country around on my continent hatred by everyone due to Religius dirversity ...

What's the speed?

I wouldn't tech calendar normally, since the AIs love it and you can frequently trade for it.

You're working unimproved tiles...whip or build more workers ;).

Wonder crazy! How's your diplo? Going for these wonders with your city count is OK but not if you're about to get stuffed by gilgamesh. It looks like the only way to avoid war would be NSR while running OR and HR. Otherwise, build defense or since sury likes you at least bribe him into gilgamesh to keep your back guarded.

The capitol should probably have more pop.

All in all your position isn't bad. You hold a tech lead and if you leverage it correctly you can grab a lot of land when the time comes. If this is marathon, you can consider medieval war with treb/mace before they get engineering (this will slaughter). Alternatively, if you can manage diplo/protect yourself, you can go into the renaissance first.

My first impression was similar to TMIT: too many unimproved tiles. With two wine in the capital, I would've prioritized Monarchy also for HR to grow cities. Maybe taken off the oracle if possible. Your capital seems underdeveloped.

it's Marathon :)

Giggles was overexpanding rather rapidly while i was looking more at keeping Surya out of my area ... as soon as i get my econ back on track (after i blocked him out of more area, one settler is there, Giza is building the other) i'll work on my military ... as of the moment i'm trying to suck up to sury and use him as an attack dog towards Giggles

Capital is low pop because i've whiped it lately :)
