The Greek-Hun War:
The Battle of Zalau:
For first time, a battle between two massive forces was seen, perhaps a bigger and more bloody battle than those of the persian-babylonian war.
The Greeks, supported w/ high numbers, stormed the more highly trained army of the Huns, it was a huge battle, w/ no virtual victors, however, the Hun main army was forced to retreat in search for a much better defensive position.
The greeks had virtually won the battle by regaining lost land, this until another army from the huns, came from the north and captured more land along the coast of the black sea.
The Great Naval battle of the Black sea:
The Greeks moved to the black sea in the cover of the night, at dawn, it was a full scale battle, the huns fought fiercely, but were no where as trained compared to their land counterparts, their ships eventually went down, but many sailors managed to swim away to shore; others were captured and will probably be sold to slavery in Athens.
The Battle of Eger:
The greeks, desperate to create another front againt the huns, sent 2 full armys against one, the battle lasted over 7 hours, the well trained hun army took out an entire greek army, but was forced to retreat as they needed rest and fighting against fresh forces would had been quite supid.
Altough the greeks have gained hun land, they have lost an army for it, they no longer have the once huge army they once had, they numerical advantage might have vanished?
The outcome of the campains:
no clear victor at the battle of zalau, advances and retreats from both armys.
Battle of the Black Sea, greek naval victory.
Battle of Eger, greek "victory" but at a huge cost.
Roman troops have been marching for weeks, barely arriving at the gates of the hun territory.
