Treaty of Carthago Nova
Rome rose, Rome fell, Rome was no more. Romans wept for their lost country, history would forever remember it was the Empire that never was. If it had been, Julius Caesar would have wept. But it was not to be for in a time lost to history (there are no dates in the update stalin
) Hannibal Barca the Conqueror destroyed the Roman State and City in a single blow culminating in the Battle of Roma. The city was burned to the ground and sowed with salt, with all the inhabitants sold into slavery to far distant Greece, Gaul, Catalunya, and some even to Jerusalem and Gibraltar. Another city was built a bit north, of Carthaginian immigrants and retired soldiers to spread Carthaginian culture into Italy. The city’s position itself would cause a spilt in Carthaginian-Venetian relations. However later that year, officials from both nations came to the new city to sign a Treaty that would officially divide Italy between the two victorious nations.
The Republic of Carthage was represented by General Hannibal Barca instructed to meet with the representatives of Emperor Havalei I of the Holy Empire of Venice to discuss a new partition of Italy. The Treaty was discussed over the mid day meal by the two parties and they both reached an agreement after a few hours.
