you won't let me forget that will you  . I can't keep track of things with no school, my brain is just a dud :) .

got it

:bump:

And are you playing? It's been a week.... :spank:

You and the next players could decrease the number of turns per turnset in Own7 to two or three, because all those skips are equal to two days of idle time.
Or just post about skip ahead, don't wait for a :bump:

IIRC, McLMan is UP

Got it. Don't have much time right now, and I know I'll have less tomorrow. Definately don't want there to be another skip in this game so I'm going to go ahead and play my turnset now. Won't be much of a turnlog though.

Pre-turn.
Taking zyxy's and nerovat's notes into account, it looks like the FP town should go N-E-NE of Warwick, we'll get the most cities within RCP-4 that way.

Turn 1) 770 AD
Cats strike Thebes, nothing but destoryed granary.

Turn 2) 780 AD
Thebes has a lot of defenders, cats manage to take 1HP off of several. Need to go for it, it's the best luck I've had with cats in this game. Lose 3 or 4 swords but capture Thebes. Admire the Oracle for a minute then burn it to the ground. Egypt's borders no longer touch our's but for one corner in Alexandria.

Turn 3) 790 AD
Healing stack. Egypt had sent settler pair right next to stack going after open land. Took spear down with cats, then 2 more slaves. Settlers loaded on boat. English workers added to York & London. Egyptian borders expand right smack next to ours again.

Turn 4) 800 AD
One more turn of healing. Settlers cross ocean.

Turn 5) 810 AD
Stack on the move. Another Egyptian settler sacrifice. English settlers unloaded.

Turn 6) 820 AD
1 Settler in Place, one for FP city en route. Stack on the move to Memphis. Producing swords back home, sending them across. Keeping 1 infrastructure build going, rest swords.

Turn 7) 830 AD
Found Newcastle on W coast. Stack Next to Memphis. FP Settler in place.

Turn 8) 840 AD
Another succesful cat volley. Even more than the first. We raze Memphis losing only one Sword. Oxford Founded N-E-NE of Warwick. FP rushed. With Egypt down to one city, we sign peace treaty with Egypt. Gives all techs: The Republic, Monarchy, Monotheism, Feudalism. Entire treasury: 5 gold. And World Map.

Turn 9) 850 AD
Forbidden Palace completed in Oxford.
Set up block to prevent Egyptian settlers from taking up free space. (Haven't seen any yet but you know they're coming)
Settler completes on mainland, another couple on the way.
Re-organize stack and fortify.

Turn 10) 860 AD
Nottingham riots, lux to 40%
Load Settler onto boat & ready to cross channel.
Iroquois looking restless at our Southern border. Galley comes into our territory.

Post turn:
Still down forseeable techs to Germany, Iroquois. Near parity with Russia. Up on America & China.
Our economy can handle a switch to Republic. I would revolt now while setting up for the next conquest.
What now? Bring 'em back home and take another crack at the Iroquois?

well i would if the save was up ;)

I also think we should probably bring our troops home and see if we can't whack those Iroquois. I don't want to be in the IA and still have them there as a neighbour...

Not sure how far we settled former egypt, that should be priority. Next take on iro's seems best thing. It somewhat surprized me they are staying friendly so long.

Thats ok, no worries. I can't play tonite now tho as I'm going to the movie marathon with my mates. I'll play tomorrow as I have the day off

Preflight - We are still in despotism at 860AD, thats never a good thing. We urgently need to settle the rest of Egypt. Cities are in solid shape but I change a few builds, we need markets if we are going Republic and we need at least 2 more settlers. I switch Warwick from Library to settler

Turnset Goals
- get into Republic
- Settle the rest of Egypt
- Prepare for war with Iroquois
- Avoid losing

IBT - Germany demands TM and 25 gold. I take a deep breath and refuse and... he was bluffing?

Turn 1 - Get 2 settlers into position to settle cities in the next 2 turns. Switch some swords to markets. I also start up the galley conveyor belt to start taking our armies home for the Iroquois war.

IBT - Germany lands a settler pair in Egypt, Egypt's settler pair is blocked by our blockade but it looks as though they will just settle in their own territory.

Turn 2 - Found Liverpool. Move around settlers and troops. Conveyor belt continues mostly zzz though

IBT - Settler pairs wander around

Turn 3 - Found Dover, conveyor belt continues.

IBT - Germany finishes Copernicus' Observatory and the Iroquois start on Magellans.

Turn 4 - zzzzz

IBT - Iroquois start on Bach's

Turn 5 - Stage a revolution. Have to hire some specialists to prevent riots

IBT - Egypt founds Thebes inside their cultural borders. Germany finishes Bach's

Turn 6 - Upgrade the last warriors to swords. Assembling our forces in London.

IBT - Iroquois complete Leonardo's Workshop. Germans finish Magellans.

Turn 7 - zzzz

IBT - Nuthin

Turn 8 - Found Brighton

IBT - Switch to Republic, we are at +29gpt at 90% tax up from +8gpt at 6.0.4

Turn 9 - Zilch... I must have missed a turn cos iv reached 960AD...

Post Turn - Well that was quick and boring. Nothing of any real interest happened. As for the goals i set out, I achieved them all. We have Egypt settled, we are in Republic and we have our army ready to take on the Iroquois...

I just don't see how we can catch up... we are well behind on tech to Iroquois and Germany. Iroquois have knights and muskets and will be a major threat to us even right next to our core... also our economy is very, very weak for this stage of the game. I would not be suprised to see the Iro and Germans move into the Industrial Age before we get half way through the middle ages. Maybe with a different civ things could be different but we had to take what we were dealt and in hindsight I think this save was vastly harder than the Russian one.

Save please ;) . I have time, and skipped before, and if there are no objections, I would like to take this now, because I haven't been very active and feel I need to contribute while I have time.

Edit: Nevermind, he edited in the save.

Edt2: Can't find vanilla disc, will C3C work? I know it will play, but when I save will it be a C3C file or vanilla file?

Nice work tupac!

I agree that this game is more difficult than the Polar Expedition, mainly because we couldn't take out our immediate rival. Also, we need the FP and we need it yesterday :). That will get our economy in shape a bit. But it's very late in the game already, and even with the FP we are in deep trouble.

Own, you cannot play a vanilla game in C3C. It changes the rules, and has a different save format.

We did have it yesterday, problem is it was just yesterday.
