NES Civ3 multiplayer

Okay, people who would like to play a BtS game:

Lord_Iggy
lord_joakim

Anyone else, copy this list and add yourself to it.

I'm having trouble downloading it, but hopefully yes. Would you like Big and Small as the maptype (personally, it's the best and most realistic, other than Terra)

Earth2 and tectonics rocks aswell. :) Especially the latter - earth2 is only a rerandomized Earth nevertheless.

Yes, although they are available for download in here :)

The Earth2 script generates a world which is not resembling, but looks a lot like Earth. Tectonics creates a somewhat realistical Earth-map based on a script resembling tectonic plates. I have played Tectonics a couple of times, I like it better than most map scripts.

There's also a new Mesoamerican mod included. It's a good patch. :)

Cool. Yeah, I'm having a lot of trouble downloading it. It just freezes the program, and says something along the lines of 'you can't touch a thing until the patch is finished downloading'. I left my computer for a few hours and nothing changed.

Mysterious. I'll give it another shot this afternoon.

I tried that problem too. Don't do that. :p

Find a download on CFC. I'll link it here. :)

EDIT: I think you have to end the process (Not the program, but do ctrl+shift+esc).

Has anyone installed and played BTS on windows Vista? Does it work OK?

I had real trouble with civ4 on my new Vista PC, mostly due to some copy protection conflict. I've been thinking about purchasing BTS for a while now, I see it is quite cheap to buy online. Id really need it to work on my new PC, since my old XP machine can hardly handle vanilla civ4 as it is.

Anyway, I wouldn't be able to download any patch on my connection, so I'll just be watching with interest!

If anyone wants to play Starcraft let me know, maybe NESers vs random people on one of the custom maps. My favourite right now is the 'Evolves' and 'Phantom' :)

I think there is compability problems with vanilla civ and online bought expansions. Also, I've heard many people complain about Civilization IV's compability with Vista. You ought to check out the Computer Talk forum. They can possibly help.

EDIT: Oh, and I want to play StarCraft aswell.

I have same problem too. Will download from CFC though.

I hope there is a no CD crack out there for this patch. I hate having to find my CD and put it in everytime I want to play :)

I have a Vista, and I play Civ4 with no problems. No copy protection conflict that you seem to have. I have yet to get BtS so I dont know about that. So it might work, might not who knows until you actually try it. ;)

Fortunatly for me, if it doesn't work, I have a backup laptop to use that is not Vista.

No conflict on my laptop between Vista and BtS (Civ4 complete disc).

Thanks for the replies about BTS on Vista. I did have a look at some other threads, and it seems there are lots of scary problems out there. I thought I'd ask here too, since I know people here and trust their opinions. Its good to know that its working for some people at least.

BTW, with this PitBoss thing, can you have player civs controlled by AI's if the players aren't around? Just wondering :)

Alright, I've got the patch downloaded, and we've got three enthusiastic people with noble titles who own BtS.

I think we should use the map script tectonics, at 60 or 70 percent water. Thoughts?

Even though 70 procent resembles earth most, it really isn't interesting to have that much water. Lands are more exciting.
