Nes Instrumentality Project : An invitation

I might Take Australia, if that is OK...

A bit of History.

After the Dissolution of the Monarchy, Australia was freed from the constriants and Obligations of the Commonwealth. With the absorbtion of New Zealand a year later, the Australian Federation ahs pressed ahead, only now realising their true potential. In the year 1907, the Kingdom of Australia and New Zealand was formed, and has cemented it's power across the Tasman Sea in its youngest state, New Zealand. However, recent developments in Asia and America could undo all that the Government has done to ensure the Stability of the Kingdom

To: France
From: Spain

Let it be known that your proclamation of a blockade upon Spain is grounds for war. The world can easily see through your clumsy attempts to ruin Spain’s economy by cutting her of from foreign trade. Cease this foolhardy plan immediately and apologize for your infringement upon the national sovereignty of Spain. Until you do, Spain officially cuts all diplomatic ties with France and declares that any French soldier or warship found in Spanish territorial waters will automatically be seen as hostile and fired upon. In addition, French citizens in Spain must immediately register with their local government and travel restrictions placed upon them. Failure to comply with these measures will be seen as confirming that the person is a French spy and they will be summarily arrested and tried for treason.

To be truthful and candid, we do not desire war with Spain or rash rebels within its borders. We fear that radicals may masquerade as Spanish citizens and ruin possible elections.

Upon finding out from the diplomat that the French reply did not contain an apology to Spain for threatening to blockade Spain, the diplomat was dismissed, his message unread, with a reminder that Spain would not communicate with France until an apology is issued.

France apologizes. She apologizes to the People's Party, but not to Spain. She apologizes in the case that the People's Party was offended or felt threatened, but, for Spain, for Iberia, France cannot and WILL NOT apologize. We acted in the best interests of both Spain and France. We sought to prevent foreign disruption and power struggles from tearing Spain apart. We sought to prevent fascists and socialists from influencing the politics of a country not their own. If you agree to reform, if you agree to democracy, then you must also agree that foreign powers or citizens should not ruin Spanish political processes by voting where they should not. It is a Spanish vote for Spain, no? So we do not apologize to Spain. We await its thanks for trying to prevent puppetry and string-pulling on the part of other powers. It is in both our interests to have peace. Our nations have a history of friendship. We merely wish to retain that.

To: The Ignorant French
From: Spain

How, pray tell, is it in the best interests of Spain to have her industries blockaded and her economy cut off? How is it in Spain's best interests to see potential goods and buyers turned away by a foreign government? How is it in Spain's best interest to see her needed imports denied her? How is it in Spain’s best interest to see her sovereign ships boarded and inspected (for that is what you will have to do to ensure your blockade succeeds)? How is it in Spain's best interest to see her territorial waters raped by a foreign navy? How is it in Spain's best interests to see a foreign power arrogantly dictate terms to her on her internal matters? Now it is overwhelmingly clear to us that you wish to see the weakening of Spain for your own benefit.

Because of this, we feel the need to add to our demands before we disband our armies we have summoned to protect the people of Spain.

1) The King immediately dissolve Parliament and call for new elections.
2) The King issue a full pardon for all members of People’s Party for their actions and guarantee their safety if they demobilize.
3) The King reestablishes the United People’s Party as a recognized political party of Spain and allows it to participate fully in the election.
4) No current nor past member of Parliament be able to run for re-election
5) France stays uninvolved in an internal election of Spain and keeps her army and navy away from Spain’s territory and waters.

this is getting good!

(on other matters, i just concluded AIM diplo with alex and conehead. The treaty of Kyoto has been signed, ill make a mini update tomorrow to inform everyone)

Welcome HMS Vanguard

when is next deadline?

To France
From the British Empire

You talk of destabilization and mob rule being detrimental to Spain, and you speak of French intervention, but I fail to see how what Spain is going through is any different then what France went through more then a century ago? And when my country's foreign power, along with the rest of Europe, intervened, was it welcomed by the French revolutionaries, the same ones who laid the foundations for what is your most beloved republic now? I don't think so. The Spanish are a sovereign state, who possess the same right of self-determination that all of our peoples share. A blockade of Spain means the French do not respect liberty, equality and fraternity for all nations.

To Kingdom of Australia
From the British Empire

Our former allies and subjects, I offer you my best wishes for the coming years and the growth of your kingdom, and hope that we can remain friends for the future. We also offer a treaty, the Treaty of Northumbria, which, in affect, will create the Commonwealth of Nations, a defense and trade pact between Britain and all her former-subjects.

To Canada
From British Empire

We offer you to sign the Treaty of Northumbria, creating the Commonwealth of Nations, a defense and trade pact uniting all British and former-British people. In this growing world of threats and intervention, we see no reason why our peoples shouldn't come together to defend ourselves.

To British Empire
From Canada

We see no reason of why not to ally with the British, regardless of the lack of monarchy. I urge Australia and all others to join in as well. We will sign the Treaty of Northumbria

OOC: An excellent mini-update stalin!

Hmm... isn't Britain a Fascist country with Canada being a democratic one and the home to the same Royal Family the British Fascists drove out of Britain?

Yes, it is.

Canada is VERY democratic. However, nobody said our allies have to be. (I have my reasoning for accepting, I didnt just because they are Britain)

Retrospect...

After that comment, if Spain becomes fascist, I see a triple alliance of Fascist Britain, Spain, and Italy to destroy france.

Maybe, but who knows.

We may not belong in your petty European Affairs, but we have to agree with Spain on the election issue. Sticking your noses in places they do not belong.

From: France

You do not agree with Spain; you agree with the People's Party...

The Kingdom of Australia and New Zealand hereby signs the Treaty of Northumbria, to further the relationship between the former colonies and the mother country of old. We are happy to be welcomed back into such a group.

I ask, does this treaty cover just Trade and alliances with Britian herself, or all of the other countries by which sign the Treaty? If not, the we propose that this Treaty include not only trade and alliances with Britian, but also trade and alliances with each nation that signs it. If it does cover this, then great!

Signed

The King of Australia and New Zealand

Sorry stalin, but I have to drop out as the German Empire. Stuffs piling up for school and all the NESes are cutting into work time
