Update 11 – Year 1912
Global Events:
The Iroquois-Sioux War is over – mostly. The Iroquois forces have surrendered pretty much without a fight, apart from Chief Iagogeh’s most devoted followers and their subordinates. These have fled for Burgundy, but that’s a different story. In New Salamanca, former Iroquois Nation was directly carved up by DTC, Sioux and Aztec republics. Fighting does continue in Alaska and Oregon, where four Japanese divisions have fought a hard fight until being slaughtered (having refused to surrender) by the Amerika Korps and the Sioux. The Japanese hold on to the so-called “Victory Islands” off the Sioux coast, despite numerous air raids.

Strange machinations took place in Cuban Republic. As a result lots of money disappeared from the Cuban treasury and Cuba suddenly advanced to Middle Modern Age and begun a nuclear project of it’s own...
The British troops brutally put down the Irish rebellion. However, in France all is different. While the uprisings are still unorganized, they are numerous, and they spread to most of Northern France, excluding the heavily British-populated and loyal Brittany and Flanders. Beside that, a potential leader who could unite these rebellion has appeared – a distant descendant of the famous Italian, Occitanian and French revolutionary, Napoleon Buonoparte.
Iagogeh and his followers have lost many ships from his fleet while fleeing to Burgundy, as the Germans were obviously prepared for them. However, 10 divisions, 10 task forces and 5 air wings have reached Burgundy, as did some of the specialists who helped bring Burgundy in Middle Modern Age.

Due to the German technological support and unknown financial support, the Occitanian Communists have been able to institute an effective draft. Thus despite the Burgundian expectations, the forces in the following Battle of Occitania are more or less equal.
Though at first the Nationalist-Burgundian offensive does have success, eventually the Communist-German technological advantage, plus the German air supremacy achieved in the beginning of operation Wintersturme, have turned the tide. Germans have effectively damaged the Nationalist-held industries and military by air bombardment. After many heated battles, the German forces have managed to reach Toulouse, where fierce urban fighting begun. The Burgundians do have some success against the Communist Occitanian fleet in the Mediterranean, though...

Scandinavian War suddenly merges with WWII. As the Finnish forces invade farther into Scandinavia, and liberate Turno, elite Scandinavian and British marines have suddenly invaded unprotected St. Petersburg. Despite severe resistance, the landing is successful in occupying the city and damaging Russian moral. Government fled to Moscow.

All of the sudden, the Diamond Sword Empire (former Balkan Alliance) has invaded and overrun army-less Hungary. Noone quite knows why they did that. In Russia, this causes mixed reaction – on one hand, Russians don’t particularly like Hungarians. On the other hand, Lajos I was very popular in Russia for ending the war and stopping useless resistance.
India enters WWII, liberating the Arab island of Soccotra. Then, Russian and Indian forces land in Somalia, facing light resistance and soon occupying the colony with some help from the local Muslims. However, it is then that the joined fleet is attacked by the British. The struggle was rather uneven, as the British fleet was outnumbered badly, and soon withdrew, but not before causing some casualties on the allies.

Arabs begin selling oil for profit, and this gave them much excess war funds.
Despite all odds and fortifications, the British have used the apparent misinformedness of the Arab commander to launch a massive offensive using the strength of the entire Empire. Outnumbered, the Arabs had to retreat, though causing many casualties to the British. Luckily for Arabs, the Russian engineers have set up several other lines of defense in Sinai, and the British offensive is stopped – for now.

In Iraq, Allenby withdraws from most of it, including the capital, without a fight, destroying industry as he retreats. Thus he faces the Arab forces in Iraq’s south with all of his, and with reinforcements. He manages to hold the Arabs off for the time being. Meanwhile, more of the reinforcements arrive to Oman, from where they launch a marine and land invasion of Arabia’s Persian Gulf coast, seizing control over it and linking up Oman and Iraq. Arab attempts to mine the Persian Gulf have failed due to the Oceanian naval superiority there.

Pakistanis continue their terrorist campaign in India, targeting civilian, military and religious targets alike.
Bolstered by Arab propaganda, the whole island of Sumatra has risen up in Muslim rebellions.
Random Events:
Turkish army has received many volunteers (+5 divisions), who believe that, with the new allies that the Turks and Arabs have, victory is still possible and are willing to help it.
In Burgundy, all of the sudden, the Communist Party begins resurgence. While it still is in the underground, it seems to have received foreign aid and it’s propaganda campaigns have damaged the national unity (-1 Culture).

Madagascar has embarked on it’s first war. Promising support to the Zulu Rebellion, Madagascar mobilized for war, and President Sergov made several speeches to inspire the troops to go forth and assist the Zulus. The preparations were hastened as the British forces have started a counter-offensive against the Zulu Rebels.
The Madagascaran army was preparing for this for a long time. It’s military is almost up to date, lagging insignificantly from the British armies, that were not very numerous in the region anyway. And Madagascaran planes are still some of the best, while the Madagascaran training, both land and air, is perhaps slightly superior to that of the British regular forces.
The British fleet was not in the region, allowing General Kulnev’s Madagascaran force to arrive into Zulu-held territory in Greater Natal. Meanwhile the air force has disabled the rather weak local British AA defense (as most equipment and supplies go to the Suez Front) and attacked the strategic objects in the British-held Natal. This was a sudden attack, and it dismoralized the local British forces. But not the local militia, which formed the core of resistance to Kulnev’s troops.
Kulnev’s forces approached the front facing the few British forces that were in the Natal area, and broke through their positions. Then the invading force split into three – Field Marshall Platov went north to establish a defense perimeter, which he did despite the guerrila resistance. Field Marshalls Ermolov (the best military mind in the Madagascaran military) and Tuchkov have attacked Lawrenceburg from two different directions. However, the attempts to minimize the civilian casualties were foiled, as a large amount of the civilians have joined the militia to fight the Zulus (and now Madagascarans as well) off. The British regular forces surrendered after the initial fighting, but the militia did not, and the Madagascarans had to engage in house-to-house fighting. But eventually, the militia surrendered as well, seeing the futility of their fight. The British Empire’s first serious defeat in WWI was when they tried to capture Madagascar, and now in WWII the Madagascarans too have inflicted a serious defeat. Field Marshall Ermolov is hailed as a hero in Madagascar, Zululand, Arabia and Russia.
