Tokugawa Ieyasu looked all around him, his supporters stood in the audience. He saw merchants, sailors, farmers, and peasents. Each had a different story, a different reason for joining the grand rebellion.
Great people of Japan,
This is a dark time for the Japanese, two emperors rule the throne, both opposing each other, and niether having any legitmacy. It is probable that this 'Erik' is not Japanese, and he seeks support of the Juang! The Edo Emperor meanwhile, sits idly and casts out threats, while he has no power to enforce them. This is unacceptable, and I ask you, the Japanese People, to rise up and take back the divine throne! In the coming months, we shall see the ascenscion of the Tokugawa, and the emergence of a grand scheme. I, Tokugaw Ieyasu, have many things planned, and I ask you to join me in my campaign to crush the corrupt and greedy emperors, who sit idly as Japan decays.
These factions also seek to claim themselves as emperors, when clearly, they have no divine blood. The Tokugawa, the people's rebellion, does not claim that it is of divine descent, rather, we seek to restore legitimacy to the throne, and I do not seek to become Emperor. Let us bring the fight to Edo, and let us restore the Empire of the Rising sun!

The Kyushu skirmish
(battle from last update, just wanted to add a short story to it)
-
1265 CE - The coasts of Kyushu, exact location unspecified
The Edo had the audacity to blockade the ports of the Tokugawa, and now Japan was in a state of total war. A small detachment of samurai had landed on the coast, and Tokugawa's Ashigaru regiment had been following them closely.
"Form a line!" Tokugawa bellowed, and his troops responded. The Ashigaru quickly rushed from their hiding position in the trees, and out onto the sandy beaches.
It was midday, and the sky was clear. The Samurai, caught by suprise, quickly formed their own line, with their elite samurai in the center, and peasent levies of pikemen at their flanks. Tokugawa anticipated that the Samurai would attempt a charge at his seemingly weak center, formed only of a division of musketmen and 2 artillery peices.
The Samurai scoffed at the Tokugawa's punitive weapons, and even though the Tokugawa had a numerical advantage, the Samurai general signalled for a charge. Yells of "Banzai!" filled the air as the samurai rushed forwards. Tokugawa ordered the musketmen to keep their fire, until he signaled to do so, then, when the two lines were almost touching, Tokugawa ordered his men to fire. The two cannons sprayed shrapnel into the Samurai lines, as there was not enough iron to support a full shot, and the musketmen shot a clean volley through the samurai, who were at near point blank range. This devastated the samurai lines, and Tokugawa ordered a counter charge, the Ashigaru quickly drew their small katanas and charged back. Some who did not have katanas, used their muskets as clubs, and the unorganized samurai started to falter.
Finally, the Samurai line broke, and ships appeared on the horizon. Samurai and peasent spearmen fleed to the shores of the beach, eager to be rescued, but then they noticed the blue banners of the fleet. The Tokugawa navy had defeated the blockade, and now came to assist the fight! The Samurai were surrounded, and many were round up and captured as prisoners, unsuprisingly, little samurai tried to 'save their honor' by killing themselves. This was mostly propoganda organized by samurai lords to perpetuate the myth of the great samurai warriors.
The Battle had been won, and the Edo fleet had been decimated. Now was the time to strike back and hit the heartland....
