New Civ: Romania

the romanian names for romanian cities are far superior
Bucuresti
Crisana
Maros
Solesti
Valeni de Munte

Thats a good idea. I will incorporate them into the next build. :goodjob: It will make them more compatible with my other civs too as they all use the native names for their cities where the language is known.

Maros? :) I've never heard of that city name before in my life, I know however that it's the Hungarian name for the river Mureş.

I think he was referring to Targu Mures. However I will go through my entire list and switch them up with the Romanian names for each city for the next Warlords patch.

I can't wait !

And , maybe in the future you could add some more UUs?
Like the Amiral Murgescu - it was top of the line in 1939 .There's a slight problem however - the ship was a minelayer so I'm not sure what it could replace in the game ... here's a reference picture if you decide to do it - I might be able to get some more material about it if you like .
Also , adding the IAR 8X series aircraft would be real cool - the IAR 80 as an early fighter (reference and photo) and the IAR 81 as an early bomber (same reference article and another photo - the chasis of the two variants are virtually the same , but the 81A has a bomb-rack underneath as you can see and they were also used with drop-tanks at some point) .
If you have time and you decide to add these to the Romanian Civ it would be very cool:D

Well I am currently building all my civs into modular format for BtS i am just over half way, However Romania is by far the largest of all the civs to convert and will be my last project I undertake. I can tell you that I will be continuing the EDU for Romania and expanding on it a little my hope is to have it done in the next 2 weeks however that depends on work commitments, and how long it takes to convert my last four civs before I tackle Romania, (Currently I am working on overhauling the Getai to bring it into line with the rest of my EBCIV factions) So we will see how we go.

As for new UUs I cant say I'm completely against new UUs however to give the Romanians more than one UU would give them a decided advantage in the industrial and modern ages, when compared with the other "vanilla" civs in the game.

Yes that might be so but a lot of people use mods and a lot of those mods give multiple UUs to some civs.
Like I said - Can't wait !

True, but none of my other civs have multiple UUs. (I admit the Dorian Greek one had 2 UUs but does not any more). Aside from that the Romanians get their own EDU, so you can play as them with unique looking units all the way through the game.

Hmm ok ... it's your work - so you decide . Anyway your civs are great as is I'm just waiting for the BTS release , UU's or not .

Oh and a question - will the BTS version be modular ?

i have 2 stupid questions that i need answered :P

Where am i suppose to put the Romania folder so that i can play the romanian civ ?

and secondly

Is this civ working on the 1st version of BTS ? cuz i haven't install any patch

am si eu 2 intrebari idioate...

Ce trebuie sa fac k sa mearga civilizatzia ? unde pun fishieru romania?... dak cumva aia trebuie sa fac
shi...
Merge shi pe prima versiune a BTS-ului ?

Sorry to sound stupid but my romanian isnt that great. I got something about being an idiot and what version is the BTS version? yes? what exactly is your question? could you please post in english or one of the Romanian members please translate for me so as to assist ZET_DJ effectively.:D

As is normal to do - and is a wide-applied rule on this forum ( the best from ones dedicated to CIV games IMHO ). ;)

BTW - only one minor advice : here is a forum for computer-games, please remove from your signature any "political" reference.

Regards and enjoy !

Thanks Mitiu for the prompt reply.

As Mitiu said the files go just like every other version of civ. In your, Program files/Fraxis/Sid Miers Civilization IV/Beyond the Sword/Mods folder. The files, while being modular, are set up so that you do not need to make any adjustments to them (Unlike some I have seen here that need to have folder created for them when you set them up)

And yes as far as I know there were no changes to the BtS xml structure in the 3.02> 3.03 patch. So it should work. ( I based my civs from the Canada mod xml, and it was 3.02 compatible and it work in 3.03 so yeah...)
