New Conquests

I've been reading a lot of history in the past year, for leisure, too. If there's one thing I realized, there's a lot of idiosyncracies of history that should never be modelled in a strategy game. For example, the idea that some people "marry" into land, to build their empire -- it'll just never work in Civ, when you're this abstract figurehead that exists across all eras, all government types, all continents.

I do really love the idea of proxy states and vassals though. I think it could really improve the whole dynamic of the game.

Shouldn't there be a conquest where you have to play as ONE greek city state at war with the rest and once every X turns the wars stop and you send Athlete units to the olympics to play against other units (Use the combat system exept the defeated unit dosn't die but returns to the home state, not to mention other animations.)

EDIT: OT hay, might be a nice regular game thing, I'll post it in the olympics thread

yes they really need a europe ww2 scenario.Hitler could have control of Poland or something and he is a non-playable civ, then you could be the commonweath maybe and defeat all german troops in Poland to make the country theirs again
