I'm assuming that's it's going to be Sarah with a first-look style video going through all the systems.

Yes, that is my guess too. Hopefully, the video will still have some good tidbits, particularly on features we don't know much about like emergencies.

Do I understand it correctly that you people are dissapointed?

I would say that new info on mechanics is more interesting than remaining leaders.
As true as this might be, we've been sort of hyped for a new leader for pretty much the entire weekend if not longer, especially now that the well of hints has seemingly run dry and all we have left to go by are our fever dreams, the chinese, and any arbitrary scraps we can randomly assemble from what little of the trailer is left. Even if the end result might arguably be better, having to change our expectations at literally the last second just feels so empty.

They managed, that we have
  • no trailer hints
  • no dutch tv "leaks"
  • etc
So we have the rare situation that we have to solve the hints puzzle all by ourselves without help... We are all ready and anticipating a real challenge... But they decide it's time to give the leaker a whole more week to spoiler us an make the next hints video ridiculously easy (again). :(

Calm down people. We know this was about to happen
10,5 weeks from first announcement and only 9 leaders
Lets hope to find some hidden gems in the list of details tomorrow.
There could still be a lifestream on thursday right?

I am hoping for an inadvertent civ leak: "New to Rise and Fall is the emergencies system. Players will now have additional challenges to overcome throughout the game. Here to demonstrate the new system is William Wallace of the Celts..."

I'm surprised people are disappointed. I have been waiting eagerly to hear about gameplay changes...

I won't speak for others, but I am of the opinion that we already have a basic understanding of most of the new game mechanics, alliances and emergencies notwithstanding. Unless it is a completely unrevealed mechanic like World Congress, I don't think a 3-minute video will tell me something I don't already know, nor inform me enough on the two little discussed systems we do know. I guess I would be more excited if it were a longer livestream.

Let's be honest:

The Livestream last week tipped over two poo-storms with governors "breaking immersion" (because reasons) and loyalty not being really explained well, so all of us went into full math-nerd mode and modeled ways loyalty might work from the screenshots and it did not end well for our knowledge of game balance.

Hopefully Sarah will go into detail about loyalty, free cities, and loyalty flipping.

The people are not disappointed by what they get, but by what they didn't get (and the time of the announcement). A gameplay video is good and welcomed, but leader hints were expected. Unfullfilled expectations are a common source for dissapointment.

Because this kind of video has a HUGE risk of just showing the stuff we already know.

Keep in mind that currently there hasn’t been any official gameplay trailer for the new mechanics, even though here at CivFanatics we’re are aware of a lot of details. All the bits about loyalty, golden ages, and governors are something we have pieced together from interviews and livestreams - the casual majority and new potential players won’t dig that deep. So this upcoming video might just end up being a rehash, with emergencies and alliances being the only new elements - but even those might end up being generic introductions.

looking forward to getting a lot of questions answered! (like what that water park / water entertainment complex really is...)

I must have missed that thread. What do people not understand about loyalty? Each turn the city's loyalty goes up or down based on pressure. If the city reaches 0, it flips.
