[R&F] New Features Video

Well, I am actually concerned now that the Inca won't be included. It does not look like it is Huayna Capac nor any Sapa Inca to me. If it is the Mapuche, I won't be overly distraught for their inclusion because they could be very interesting but I would hope they aren't portrayed militaristically. Regardless, I am a bit concerned now for the Inca, but it would be strategically advantageous for Firaxis no to include them now so that they create a hook for either another expansion or other DLC.

Well "kinda". It's safe to say that the americans would not get away with the "lol WMDs" another time. Also, it was a coalition of democracies against a tyranic dictator. America could not have pulled the same thing on a free, democratic nation.

I think they will be able to pull WMD another time, cos that is still a very real issue; but I otherwise agree.

Well, they've had no issue showing Poundmaker :)

It's way too late in production for them to just outright cut Poundmaker, it's not the same issue as Pueblo, where they merely had a concept for it.

For what's it worth, I kind of hope Incas are SUPER cool and out there, similiar to what they had intended for Pueblo.

According to my limited knowledge the Mapuche never built a Wonder of the World to be included with a DLC though.

Well, yeah, it helped that Saddam was a dictator that was already hated by most. I don't know if this is already in the game but if not, it should be: your warmongering penalty should be lower with civs that already hate your target and should be higher with civs that love your target.

I don't mind it being good, I said it was stupid because it doesn't make sense at all. Casus bellis are supposed to make the AI ok with your wars when the war "makes sense". This new casus belli seems to make the AI ignore your aggression just because you're in a golden age.

I also don't like the idea of a bonus whose only mechanical effect is to manipulate the AI. If the developers want the AI to care more or less about something, they should give it an actual gameplay reason to care more or less instead of programming arbitrary responses to things that don't affect them.

Long hair, headband, light blue on flag. Colors are probably the light blue of Argentina and the darker blue of Chile

I was thinking the other day that Civ really hasn't covered Argentina/Chile very well. This might be interesting. However, I am going to wait for confirmation before going all in on Mapuche over Inca.

I think the doom-mongers on here (myself included) were about on point with our predictions as to how much in the way of "full details" we were likely to get although it's good to see a bit more about emergencies and the new alliance system. Emergencies do seem a bit "meh" and my prediction is that the AI will happily ignore them in most games unless the bonuses for winning are more enticing than "free relic".

If the new leader (who I bet will be revealed next week) is in fact Lautaro of the Mapuche instead of an Inca leader, that will be a big shock and, as others have said, definitely point towards more DLC/a third expansion down the line. It might also suggest that the last two Civs to be revealed are more likely to be returning leaders than new ones (Cree, Georgia and Mapuche would be three "shocks"/surprising new Civs revealed in a row). This might be good news for Ottomans, Mali, Zulu and Celts, but bad news for Italy, Scotland or Ashanti.

The Chinese leak still might be right after all...

Not sure this is true. When Ed gave his talk about selecting civs last time, he said that they didn't actually know that a second expansion would be coming after Gods and Kings. It was decided far later than the civ design stage. At this point, they probably already know whether there will be more expansions/DLC, but when they started planning R&F, I don't think they would have. It wouldn't factor into their civ choices.

Also not sure I said this, I much preferred Sarah's narration.

Could the Mapuche be our Culture civ? Was hoping for Ashanti, but they could be interesting...

I get the feeling that the Emergencies is going to be a hollow shell, can the player and AI trigger voluntarily? Has the AI improved enough to perform the so called objectives?

Agreed, but I think the AI will pull off some, since they seem likely to perform the actions anyway. For instance, Poundmaker would already be trying to get his holy city back up and running anyway.
