[R&F] New Features Video

I wonder if you can use a causic belli like reconquest war with no penalty for warmongering to to take back the city if not that would be kind of broken mechanic

Well, remember that if you lose a city to low loyalty, it does not immediately join another civ but becomes a free city first. So you can probably reconquer it with no warmongering penalty. If you wait for the free city to flip again to another civ, then yes, attacking it would mean declaring war on another civ which would cause a warmongering penalty and you would need a casus belli to reduce the penalty.

The Great Lodge is a new religion, probably preferred by the Cree

I was pleased to see this too. It would be nice if all the relevant native religions (like in Tomatekh's great mod) were just added to the game, especially since in Civ VI we have a ton of arbitrary symbols anyway.

Wonder if this had anything to do with communications with the Poundmaker Nation?

Why should other civs be fine with you attacking a free city?

Yes, those are healthy trade route bonuses. I hope this incentivizes players to drop the domestic trade route strategy. Even the level 2 military alliance's unit production boost was intriguing.

I think domestic trade routes are still good in the early game to boost your new cities. But in the later game, international routes seem way better.

I'm not sure if it was, I think i saw its icon being one of the customizable icons in the case the Turtle

The Alliances screen make it look like you can customize the alliance, like each time you get to a new tier you can choose which bonus you want. You don't have to stick with science if you start with science.

Didn't they say you get a temporary bonus to try to complete the emergency, not only the reward for doing it? I didn't see a temporary bonus there...

Anyway, as underwhelming as we knew it would be, not a lot of info aside from a leader "leak" and a look at some UI we didn't see yet, some other options you can pick when you enter a new age and ingame footage of new units.

Also spotted that there's a new "casus belli" in the information era that removes 75% of warmongering points, while the only requirement is that you denounce the target. Sounds really dumb if you ask me.

It's a Golden Age perk, it's meant to be good. It will be irrelevant if you've been warmongering all game, but if you find yourself needing to do a bit of preventative conquest in the endgame, it will be helpful in not ruining your existing relations with other civs.

I'm certainly leaning towards Mapuche, but only because I'd definitely give the Sapa Inca a great gold crown if I was in charge

Also his design looks more like youthful resistance fighter than middle aged king.

Well that would be disappointing :( I see it's tied to the dedication below...

The religion symbol is the default turtle so probably it's just a custom religion name? I'd support Tootoosis wholeheartedly this time if he want to push Firaxis to respect native religion and give them their own symbol.

It is ment as an end game finisher for military victory.
Well obviously, that was not my point. Rather the fact that you can attack anyone you want, and get very little diplomatic penalty for it. Totally unrealistic, especially in the information era.

ok as it is 130am I bid you all goodbye and look forward to waking up to find out there was a secret hint that changes everything that was revealed as I was asleep

Well thats my point there should be a causic belli wich has these conditions:

when a city of you flips to a other civilization you can declare a formal war to take it back BY FORCE.

maybe thats the golden age causic belli?

if you google "Great Lodge religion", you get links to Freemasonry.

Almost certainly NOT a new religion

Hmm, if it were really the Mapuche, than it's even more likely we get post-exp DLC or a third expansion, because that's another staple they save for later + It makes Machu Picchu and Isabella more likely to appear later in a DLC (the Inca's + Isabella I + Machu Picchu DLC, yes they will be rumoured forever). Also i don't belieev we will get Inca's and Maya's in the same expansion pack, and I also don't believe Inca's or Maya's won't return (or i will be absolutely FURIOUS).

But Mapuche is great, and their inclusion is maybe even be better, since Inca's are likely to return, so that does mean that at the end of the development stage we have one additional civ from Southern-America, but I will still hope for Muisca, but Colombia seems a bit more likely, and no additional SA-civs aside from Mapuche is even more likely, but it's still better than in all the previous civ games.

Though they better don't wait that long with the Inca + Isabella DLC...

I don't know about that. Isn't that kinda what Bush did with the Iraq War? In civ6 terms, the US denounced Saddam and then a few turns later, we massed our troops and invaded. And we did not suffer that much warmongering penalty for it.
