[R&F] New Features Video

So with Bodyguard of Lies, Disguise, and Machiavellianism we can now run offensive spy operations in 2 turns. Think of the havoc you can sow with Recruit Partisans or the new mission that subverts loyalty with that setup.

"Bodyguard of Lies, Disguise, and Machiavellianism" is the coolest combination of things I've seen (name wise). Sounds like a book.

Those are the Dark Age-only wildcards. The regular purple ones will still be around.

Not during the Dark Age itself though it would appear:

So can we not start an inquisition now unless we're in a dark age as per one of the dark age policy cards?

My intrepreation was that it would only use up 1 charge in an inquisition.

Small note: As the new info video begins with one of the ship scenes from the announcement trailer, it seems Magnus had this very scene reflected in his eyes. Whatever that is worth?

The Pueblo were intended to be the Americas Native civ but it never got past some concept art, and background info as the Tribe would not allow them interviews, or cooperate to have themselves implemented into the game. They had roads etc. just like the Inca who were put in to replace the Pueblo for the expansion.

The Inca didn't replace the Puebloans in BNW, the Shoshone did....

I was forgetting that charge means you still would have more left with the apostle and it wouldn't be used up. This new mystery leader picture has my brain spinning.

I really enjoyed the Inca's terrace farm in civ 5, so if they are coming to 6, I hope they have something similar.

If it's another tribe in the region, well, maybe they had them too...

Am i the only one who is dissapointed that there aren't nay changes in the tech tree like new technologies changing the way techs are put together .

I know I am. I'm a little annoyed by some of the beelining and problems like the AT crews appearing too early (not to mention too numerous and essentially taking the place of infantry type units)>

preventative conquest

I just thought this phrase was funny. I suppose that was what we did with Iraq in 2003. Of course we weren't actually preventing anything, which is my point. There is no such thing as preventative conquest.

I found him a little grating.

Bring back Sarah. We give her a hard time, but I've grown accustomed to her voice. I suppose the other voice sounds more sophisticated, only because English accents sound more sophisticated to us 'muricans. But I've come to associate Sarah with Civilization 6.

The new Pike & Shot anti-cav unit look good, but suffer setbacks like spearmen.

Both Muskets and Pike&Shot have 55 melee str. w/ 2 movement and cost 4 gold per turn which is standard for their era.
Yet Pike&Shot are worse as they cost more production (250p) then Muskets (240p), unlocks at a later tech, and has no policy cards backing it.

They would need to change Feudal Contracts (Med, Milit. policy: +50% production bonuses to Med/Rene melee and ranged units) to include anti-cav else players will skip them for Muskets.

Also: Netherlands' Polder come @ the Guilds Civic 3:11

Who controls the British Crown?
Who keeps the metric system down?
WE DO! WE DO!

Who keeps Atlantis off the maps?
Who keeps the Martians under wraps?
WE DO! WE DO!

Who holds back the electric car?
Who makes Steve Gutenberg a star?
WE DO! WE DO!

Who robs cave fish of their sight?
Who rigs every Oscar night?
WE DOOO! WE DOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I have you to blame for getting that song stuck in my head. Which led me to look it up on Youtube, which caused me to look up the Canyonero song up on youtube. Now I have both songs stuck in my head. Sigh. :)

Yeah I can't see myself building more than 1 of these. It would be nice to have a card include these. But honestly I never use cards after the classical era usually. As my army usually consists of upgraded units.

From UberFrog's screenshot, which I think he alluded to it being a tercio...

umm... I don't mean to alarm anyone...

Italy flippin' confirmed.

250 vs 240 isn't a big difference, but muskets already have a bonus vs them too. Although Muskets do come sooner, they do require the resource, whereas the pike+shot is resourceless. I could see a strategy for these actually as building a lot of cheap spearmen, and then using the 50% discount on upgrade to get an army of pike+shots. Especially if you lack the resources, that's probably the most efficient way to get a melee unit in this line.
