New install, crash to desktop?

I have a new upgraded computer with Windows 10. I played the game a lot on my old Windows 7 computer, so I'm not new to the game. Anyway, every time I get to the start screen where the civ leader is giving a bio, the game crashes to desktop. I haven't been able to play at all, so I don't know where to begin figuring what's wrong.

A quick follow up. I was just able to start a game. I unsubscribed from a Fall Start Position Fix I found on my Steam Workshop, and wonder if that could be it? I also did a verify files, but it didn't say anything about finding any errors.
