The real problem with these thou is that without the original file, we don't have the layers etc, so it is basically not editable.

I propose that each layer be posted as a separate image in order to give full access to whomever may want to replicate that style regardless of the program they use.

it's been brought up that the old winkel-tripel one that NES used for like 6 years, while nice-looking, is extremely annoying for people to free-draw on thanks to the slanted projection, and apparently also has some rivers in the wrong place (?)

I feel like this is a good time to get a new basemap that does the same thing. I have zero capability of doing this but it feels like something that should be put in this thread

We might need to consider a map of the Moon for political usage; games might be able to have such maps applied for the usage for additional places to play over.
