New Leaderhead - King Atlas of Atlantis

I like the idea of placing Atlantis underwater for the modern view. That could be pretty easy: just put an underwater scene outside the window. Even with a standard window, a fish floating by sends the message pretty well.

Just an idea. This is looking great, so far.

Yeah but in the game the capital city will still be above water, I mean you can't make the game have underwater cities so it would just be for effect alone. Besides none of the research in the game would allow such technology.

Pshaw. It looks cool. He's broadcasting from a secret underground base. You just think there is no such technology.

YES! he's underwater and is broadcasting a signal to the rest of the world, Atlantis was always an advanced nation. And as for the pollution in Atlantis for the Industrial age, i don't think that fits in. A mythilogical civ that lived in harmony with the gods and nature WOULD NOT POLUTE!

Maybe they wouldn't polute in the ancient and medieval ages... But then in the Industrial age as production takes precedence over all other concerns and religions decline they'd polute just as much as the next group... Or maybe I'm overthinking this whole thing :)
Love those rooms with the big windows... No need to put it underwater (might be a nice effect but I don't think it's needed).

Alright, yes I agree Atlantis is all great and wonderful ut let's rememeber this is a game here. Think about it, while the other civs are starting out, just dsicovering the wheel the leader of Atlantis is trasmitting from a secret under water base?

What challenge would the game be if that were true? Each civilization in the game started out at different times and was advanced in thier own way. Modern science shows that egypitians had batterys mad of clay pots, iron rods, and acidic wine. So does that mean they should start off with electricity?

However, it is possible to mod the game in a way that allows cities to be built on water tiles. I am thinking I may add that ability to my mod. I may restrict it to sea squares though since ocean squares would allow rampid expansion all over the globe.

I like them actually, but again I belive they're a bit dark.

EDIT: I just saw a preview here and now it's gone, what happened to it? This was in response to the preview.

I was actually thinking of the underwater theme for the modern era. Note that, in the mod this is being designed for, Gadiria is a seaport city. There's no reason why the capital can't be in an undersea facility under Gadiria Bay.

Of course, this is not a big deal, either way. I can be happy with or without the water. I just wanted to illustrate that it wouldn't, necessarily, be an abbrogation of the base rule set to have it.

Well true in your mod it would apply I suppose. I'm adding them to my mod and since I am going to make it possible to build cities in sea squares I suppose it'll apply there too.

It would not be available till modern ear though like you said. hmm...

If you're thinking about building cities and sea squares, don't forget to troll this board for other people who have attempted as much. I recall reading quite a lot about problems with that.

And you can be certain that the AI won't know what to make of it.

YOu can make cities on water, but units tend not to stay on them unless you ahve a boat perminatly docked there, and I belive that you need it to have a transport capibility. A way around this is to make a water unit with an impossibly high transport capibility and make it not be able to be moved. Make it an invisible unit and give it no attack or defense and cost nothing, then you have a platform for your units
I will try this out later

Thanks everybody for your support.

neorowen: I think your suggestion is quite good, so I tried to implement them.

About underwater background - well idea itself isn't bad, but it's not Call to Power:) I think it won't just fit to Civ3. I suppose I left normal background for modern times.

Now I'll start to make animation for medieval. If you like these backgrounds I'll make also next two animations.

Your modern age is excellent:goodjob:

I prefered the original industrial to the current but the new one is ok.:(

EDIT: If you had to change the background the middle one on your post with three alretnatives would have been good.

Piernik i see that this leaderhead will be finish soon, what will you do after that?

That look great, You've done a wonderful job with these!

The animaitons are excellent , congratulations . One thing though, his eyes look too colourless . I hope that you will be able to make the colour clearer without losing the godly touch .

The eyes are great, plus the more changes you post the longer it will be before we get this fantastic leaderhead :D

Yoda Power--> I don't know yet, but maybe I'll finish some of previous LH (maybe Porus).
I also want to make a scenario with friend from Poland, but now we'ra only thinkig about it. Why do you ask? Have you got some suggestions??:)

Aneeshm--> We've discusted that topic earlier... Eyes should present different culture, from European and all known to us. They're gonna stay like that;)

I'm making animations now - modern and industrial ages to go... Than the pcx files. Oh... and main era will be medieval one. I hope on Monday Atlas will be finished.

If you are redoing previous leader heads, I think if you added a pharaonic beard to Sabaces you would have a well done Pharoah (Perhaps the Ramses people have been asking for)
