New Let's Plays

The Fan Friday one is better than average. He plays fast and gets a little past turn 100 in an hour. His automated explorer should be given presidential status for circling the continent in 70 turns and finding lots of resource pods. Too bad he rarely uses all that extra energy. He could have bought trade routes or something else useful.

Also, his virtue choices mirrored my suggestion in an older thread, using might and industry to gain the tier 1 bonus on the way to tier 3 industry. Too bad he failed tactically in dealing with the aliens and trying to pop nests for science.

His start was a cakewalk compared to SolarGamers recent LP where he had 3 siege worms trolling his capital. I wonder if difficulty level had anything to do with this, or if it was just a bad dice roll.

i F*In cant wait to play myself ! So many mistakes and missed opportunities. I mean WHY PEOPLE WHY ?!

Let's play from Inven (Korean)
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4

In first 2 games, they play on Soyuz difficulty from chat requests. But they soon gives up from catastrophe caused by bad approaches and careless mistakes.
In the last game they play on Mercury level.(Starts at part 2 - 80:00) Although they're not good, they showed quite much and a fun thing was occured too - They attacked aliens continuously and a pissed siege worm destroys PAU capital. (8:00 in part 4)
It ends at turn 211.

VideoGamerTV is aggressively going after the aliens with Brasilia. While I don't agree with all of the tactics, he's playing much better than all the others I've seen.

I think saying he plays "marginally better" would be more than enough. Dude makes terrible decisions.

Like, ok you want to pown aliens. Sure, then start with physics for christ sake and farm virtues until the 3000 beaker policy for destroying alien nest...

Hell, i havent played the game and that's still obvious.

That's a damaged tooltip

Another Let's play from Inven (Korean)
This time, they invited a civ 5 player from a civ community. He didn't know much about BE so chose mercury level. Still, it was better than most LPs out there. (Achieved Harmony level 9)
He didn't wanted to go war but his co-caster(who played Part 2 in former LP) kept suggesting it. Ends at T204.

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

Harmony artillery have +1 movement as upgrade choice!

p. s. Both LP was started at 11 PM, they get very tired towards end of the video. (Which made they scrap the game before T250) Pretty sure he would be able to build a Xeno Titan if they kept playing till T250.

The next Firaxis Twitch Live Stream was announced. It will start a Let's Play of Brasilia through the entire game!! I started a special thread for it!

I thought, "Cool, lets watch this, who needs narration anyway?" Turned off sound, began to watch with much anticipation...and realized that the menus and tooltips were completely indecipherable...Duh! :crazyeye:  :goodjob:

Actually, one of the only positives in the Iven video is that they have the game sound on pretty high, so you can hear the music and sound effects.

(The other is that they actually got past turn 200, so you can actually see a bit of new info.)

Thanks for the info. I'll look again and perhaps just check out the terrain resource icons, etc.
