New nVidia driver and Civ 5 crash

I updated my driver for my GT 540M to version 306.97, and following the update I'm getting extreme lag which I need to force shut down my PC or just a standard crash on average every two turns, when prior to the update it was every 50 turns at the most. Is there anything simple that would cause this? I'm running a Dell XPS L502X with i7 processor

In my case (se glitch tread) The only driver that worked was 304.79 an beta driver. What driver did you use prior?

You may have to go into the Nvidea Control Panal and readjust some settings?

I was on 285.62, which I've since rolled back to.
