New Patch Question/Issue

Anyone else having the following problem? I downloaded the patch and installed it. When I try to run the game though, nothing happens. My task monitor says it is not responding. Interestingly, it screws up IE also (IE freezes)

I then uninstalled the game and reinstalled, everything works fine again. This leads me to believe that it is to do something with the patch.

I run Windows XP-Home with the latest NVidia Drivers (23.11). As I said though, I don't think it is my machine as the original game runs without the patch. Any advice/thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Installing the patch when having Windows XP and a NVIDIA graphics card doesn't work too well. I believe Firaxis is fixing this at the moment

Thanks for the info. I thought I had checked everything there, but I will do some more review .
