There has been some issues with the Gamespy servers finally shutting down. We're trying to find a solution over at Realms Beyond, and this means the game may be down from time to time. Please pay attention to Civstats if you're unable to connect. Also, the game will rarely be down for more than 30-60 minutes while I debug stuff.

I am going away on holiday from the 11th until the 25th but I have found a temporary replacment for me in this period.

One of the forum members at Realms Beyond has worked out a fix for the problem of 2+ players connecting to a Direct IP or Pitboss game simultaneously without requiring a VPN. All you need to do is to configure the "hosts" file on your system to redirect connection attempts to the Gamespy natneg servers to another IP. Then you will be able to connect to any player who has applied the same fix.

Our primary Pitboss host (Caledorn) is currently running an alternative natneg server, and he has mentioned it uses so little traffic that he's happy for others to simply connect to his IP if they wish. (You do not need to be playing in any of his games to make use of the fix.) Alternatively, if you're more comfortable rerouting your IP to someone you know, you can find the source code for the program in the same thread linked above, and you or one of your friends can host an alternative natneg server.

You can get around that too.

Open Notepad.
Use File>Open (Ctrl-O)
Paste C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts directly into the box and hit Open

Hosts file will open automatically, no navigating through hidden directories/files.
Anywhere in that file (on a new line) paste in the

Civstats once again ignored my activity, but not Friendly Fire's, who logged only minutes after me. Never seen this before.

It doesn't like you amask. Timer is rolling at 23hrs currently classical.

Game reloaded from Cristoval's login autosave. Note: This means that you have to replay your turn, Cristoval. Please do your very best to replicate the moves you did before I had to reload.

The reason for the reload was a thunderstorm, where I had to emergency shutdown my computers, leaving me no time to save the games. I cannot guarantee that there won't be more thunder in the upcoming hours, and if there is a power outage due to another thunderstorm, the game will be gone until I wake up again. Just as a precaution, you should log in an additional time after completing your turns, to generate a new autosave.
