New Rule Proposal

Interesting how this thread got started after I decided to curtail my posting at this site to a bare minimum. I wouldn't have even known it was here if someone hadn't PM'd me about it.

Anyway, I believe I should weigh in on the subject, given that I'm a recent "expert" on the subject matter. If there is a way to differentiate animated smilies from stationary ones, then I do agree they should be curtailed in sigs.

An outright ban of them is not needed, but a cap of two or three would suffice. The mods shouldn't have to hunt down every Joe-poster that has an annoyingly lively sig, and there are some that bother even me...

I agree that we should ban the more active smilies such as the lol and rofl. They get annoying when I am trying to read a post and distract from the post as well.

YES!!! I agree with this 100%!!!

Although banning all Smilies wouldn't be a bad thing . . . this is a good start!!!

I really don't get you, I really don't. You've said (repetitively repeatedly) that post count means nothing to you and yet you post the same crap over and over and over and over and over and over. And one other thing, not all animated smilies are bad. Everytime I see one of your posts, I can only think of doing this:

You're right, PC means nothing to me, I post because I have something to say. I don't like smilies, so I post about that, then you come along, and your little Rant thing. Sheesh. We should try to make this Forum a nice place to post, not a place where people jump all over you for expresing your opinion, like you did. I think I may start ignoring your posts from now on . . .

Thankfully, I usually do not see animated smilies moving . . .

This should be a forum where people can express their opinions freely and their posts will be taken into consideration. But when you post the same damn thing more than once in every potential thread, it dilutes your own opinion and spams up the forum...

Someone can tell superslug that I am not responding to him anymore, for quite obvious reasons. He is against freedom of expression, apparently, and is also against people giving their opinions.

You can only have 5 Smilies in your Sig, of which, only 2 may be animated.

That sounds realistic to me, not what I would prefer, but seems realistic. What do you guys think?

And I am not continuing the discussion with you-know-who, its only leading to Mods doing their thing
