New terrain features

Grass parrots, Jungle parrots of Forrest parrots? Flightless parrots belong with the Moa.:)

This group ...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parrot

Psittacidae, Cacatuidae and Strigopidae.

Psittacidae = Old World (ex. African Grey) and New World Parrots (ex. Scarlet Macaw)

Cacatuidae = Cockatoos (Which live in Southeast Asia and Oceania)

Strigopidae = Kakapo (Ground dwelling Parrots of New Zealand)

Moa however are not parrots but are a type of ratite (ex. Ostrich, Emu, Kiwi, etc).

So yeah this is a "Parrot" resource not a "Any Bird" resource. That's what poultry resource is for. :p

Were you suggesting it be used as some sort of generic colorful bird resource? Such as using feathers from other non-parrots like the birds-of-paradise?

If so I could see that. However I still don't think the Moa would be under that group. They were rather drab in appearance.

Ostrich feathers are prized - perhaps for their size as much as anything - so moa feathers may be also (I haven't heard of trade in emu/cassowary/rhea feathers but they may also occur). Then of course don't forget peacocks - feathers both big and pretty.

How do you get access to them?

I think the "Parrots" Event would be a good way to bring parrots into game, so as the "sea turtle" event.
Otherwise those two events would be outdated like the "tin" event was (or still is?)

Run a new game:mischief:. Although I have not seen any parrots in my new game.

Lol no, I meant in general^^ Are they enabled via a building, via a special building only subdued parrots could build, are they a map ressource etc.

Sounds like someone has Global Warming. ;)

Note there is no message or event cue. It just happens.

It still seems like GW is happening way too early. I think that at the least the thresholds should be doubled again, or just flatly removed until ori comes back to look at and fix the events. Another good idea would be for it to give event log messages.

I agree.

I think the problem is that its being triggered by 3 different Pollution buildings. When really it should only be triggered by the worst of the 3. How do you edit the event to only have it triggered by the worst one?

EDIT: Nevermind I found it. No need to disable the event now. It should be WAY harder to trigger and the way it was intended to be.

thx. . . . ..

Sorry that it cannot undo your terrain in your game. Guess you will have to wait until you can terraform the terrain yourself.

This is why I hate GW as currently implemented, we don't quite know if it works properly, but if it doesn't your whole game is essentially ruined.

Yes it is, and now that i keep getting a CTD with my current game:mad:

That's probably from land masses having ben joined together, which I why the mega nukes can cause CTDs - I imagine sea level changes will also dot eh same on an even larger scale

Really, now that is something i have never heard of or even mentioned before on CFC??

So more or less GW is a degradation of CivIV?
