New unit: Ancient Trireme

An idea I forgot to post when I made this ship:

- what if the construction of trireme costed one population point? Afterall, it is run by ~200 men. Due to this extra cost, it could have extra movement and some other funky abilities (which come with conquests)... ;)

Ok, Now Im not sure which Trireme to use. Should I use Smoking Mirror's War Galley or should I use this unit as the Ancient version of the Battleship.

This unit should only be for Greece I think, the War Galley is much more generic:)

I'd suggest using this unit for basically all of the ancient civilizations except the Babylonians, of course. The Romans, the Greeks, the Carthaginians, The Egyptians, and the Persians all built triremes.

aaglo, this is a fantastic unit.

Ah, if playing on a real world map, then I have to agree with you. :)
But what about during a random game of Civ3? If the Babylonians start a game on an island, they may well have developed into a naval nation, while the Greeks, being in that particular game in middle of a continent, might not have. ;)

Im sorry to bumb and month and a uhh week old thread but theres one thing that surprisingly i always didnt like, it only has a ram attack why dont you add another
attack anim with it shooting arrows

Missiles weren't really exchanged between galleys - maybe a few, but ramming and boarding were much more common anyway.
