Don't have a clue how to use it yet but it is a splendid unit and very unique, which is all the better !

Of course he does not reload but who (except me ) cares !
Maybe he could throw a tad higher ? Looks a bit short in the preview (of course might be definitely OK in-game).

Maybe make the Longbowman require a resource (yew wood maybe) and have this one available with the same tech, slightly weaker with no resource.

I've been lurking around the forum here, this unit caught my eye and made me register...

This weapon is more typically called a Staff Sling (at least on the internet).

This guy claims it was known to the ancient English and Romans but mostly used by Asian and Middle Eastern peoples:
