New Unit Series: MP44

Some reference pictures for you; Shepherd from Germany. I don't really see why they would be more difficult to animate than your other guys

:nope: It's not the shepherd that's the problem, it's the sheep.

Don't forget the (my little request;) ) of a regular german rilfemen with a German Shepherd dog and a German officer for an army unit :D !
I hope not it would be an interesting unit.
I'll have to see if I can find a German Shepherd figure. That will be a tough one to animate methinks.
I have not seen a German Shepard specifically but I have seen a 3ds wolf that should be close enough. Being 3ds you would have to rig all the bones however.

Steph he is talking about a German infantryman with a German Shepard guard dog unit.

Brilliant.

For anyone using or interested in using the Kriegsmarine I did last in this series there is a new version up on the OP. It's been "sharpened" using PSP. Please give this one a try in your game and see what you think. I'm debating on whether to do more units using this method.

Hi Gary !
I`ve allready built-in your Kriegsmarine since released. Will change to the new version today. Will build-in additional pseudo unit with warrior values (immediatly buildable) using your flcs. Will start a new game. Will give feedback !
Bye General 666

btw: Sorry for my `Time-Out` , have had computer problems !
Hope it works again

Damn ...
Forgot to say:
SPECIAL THANKS FOR THIS UNIT.
Since playing Civ3 I have looked out for a reasonable substitute for the Marines-Unit from Firaxis for the germans. After sooooooooo many years I finally got mine german `Marine-Infantrie`!

NOW THE ONLY UNIT MAKING REALLY SENSE TO ME IS A GERMAN "GUERILLA" (HINT,HINT)

Very good graphics, do please keep it up! :goodjob:

Finally, your units are unbelievable impressive. Especially your new sharpening tool is the little thing that was missing - now its really perfect!!!

I will ritualistically award the EISERNE KREUZ proper to the MP44 series.
Since Balou and NavyDawg, we have another King of Modern Foot Units :king:

:worship:

I'm not really sure if the sharpened units look better or not. To me, the others were just fine and a bit more natural. But your units, your call. :)

I'll need to do some more testing with PSP effects on my units. The trouble with the old units is that they had a tendency I think to blend in too much with the terrain. :(

I think mostly it was the darker color units which had the most problem.

I would tend to agree with that. Just by the OP I like the first, softer version. :)

My personal taste: I like the un-sharpened units better, because they blend in better (camo effect).

Here three screenshots of Kriegsmarine old (above) and sharpened (bottom) over different terrains (grassland, plains and desert) and from different terrain packs (Standard, Ares,V2 and Balthasar SE Asia).

Everyone can decide but I would prefer the upper version (old and un-sharpened). It looks more “real” and less “flickering” around edges
