Should'nt liberating a city-state from barbs automatically ally with you?

No. Too easy to exploit by a human to let the CS fall and then take it.

I agree strongly with this. The current liberation is only worth friends, and it feels rarely worth it to liberate.

I've suggested this in the past, but it hasn't picked up any traction.

See above.

I've asked this several times and have had no answer, so I'll try one more time (I know you're busy and suce, but )

Could you explain briefly how AIPerEraModifier and DifficultyBonus in HandicapInfos work? I'd like to raise the difficult a bit (above deity ) and I figure I should probably increase both numbers..?

To be more specific I find that the AI is very competitive early on but after a few eras I always outrun them tech wise.

If you have a specific question for me, PM me. Don't post it in a thread and hope that I see it.

AIPerEraModifier affects all other handicap elements (like worker build speed, building production cost, etc.) and scales them per era. More negative = more AI bonus. I would not go below -10 (as it is on deity), as that comes out to a 70% reduction in the late-game. Any more and the AI will flood the map with things.

Handicap mod affects the yield bonuses the AI gets from certain things, like entering a new era, settling a city, etc. Higher the better.

Anyone have a mirror? Mega isn't loading for me for some reason

Edit: finally loaded but is asking for a decryption key?

There's no key. Maybe you clicked on an ad or something?

Try the web download, should work fine.

Fixed some No-EUI stuff, and removed EUI black borders stuff

Glad to see I "got under your skin" with this one... even if I didn't try to.:lol::lol:

Thanks for the fix to the GD issue. I will make my best to try this one myself and not rely on third party reports, and if I have the time, try and give you some feedback. WIll try and focus mainly on AI behavior; balance is a dynamic thing, and others are doing a great job with that.

Cheers,

I'm sure there are good reasons to disable it, still sad to see it go - as I enjoyed it in a (for my taste) not-exploitative way :( I can imagine however that it's probably a human-only thing (never seen the AI using it - SMAC was the only civ-style game I see the AI doing this) and teaching the AI using it in an informed manner is probably too complicated.

It was a bad replacement for a lend-lease mechanic that is badly needed in the civ diplo sub-game, but probably beyond civ5 engine's capabilities.

Now you are forced to really help those in need of your intervention, which adds a new layer to the game. Good change.

I play CP on deity and found it too easy tech wise because I could steal techs so fast. I went from 10-15 techs behind to tech lead just by stealing. My solution was to make it much harder to steal techs, which increased the difficulty level in my games severly.

Do techs get easier to steal at higher difficulties? I play on King, and while my spies help they are no means a substitute to fixing my gap, I still remain 5-6 techs behind, and eventually the city potential start to lower, so tech steals start to take 20 turns.

I want to know your alls secret to these amazing science runs. I just tried playing Korea, with a science religion, every science building and specialist, rationalism...and I'm still behind in tech!:(

Thanks you very much! I was hesitant to PM you as I felt it was more pushy and I didn't want to seem rude :)

I think indirectly it gets easier to steal since you are further behind and since AI cities are bigger and better due to bonuses and therefore have higher potential. I would guess though that it is easier in CP as compared to CBP.

Or just simply play England. :D
And it becomes insanity when England also has all above mentioned bonuses. :crazyeye:

I play as and against random civ's, otherwise it just wouldn't be fair. I like the surprise and the challenge to make with what I have. :)

Does anyone experience CTDs every few turns? It could be specific conditions of the game?
Or may be I deleted old files in the incorrect way? Because this really stops me to play current version. :(

EDIT: It's not exactly CTD. The game freezes at the end of the turn and then I'm forced to shut it down via Task Manager.
