Can I ask the dumb question...what does no tech brokering mean? Does it literally mean no tech trading? Perhaps it means we can trade only techs we directly researched?

Sorry, that was my fault. I hadn't built the Mac saves. I have now.

Please note that you should only download the one save that you plan to use in the competition. Downloading more than one save .... kinda looks suspicious? By all means download other class saves after you have played and submitted, if you want to try the other options.

I think that one of the AI Civs offered to buy a tech (for gold) that I originally traded from another AI. I was not sure if this was different than trading in the definition of brokering. Sorry if this is an obvious question, this is my first time playing a GOTM.

It is an option enforced by the game. So not you or any of the AI will be able to trade a tech they didn't research (or start with).

Hi, as Neilmeister pointed out, it is a part of the game so anything you are offered or can offer for trade is OK. No Tech Trading would prevent the kind of deal you mention, but No Tech Brokering only prevents the trading of techs that you did not discover on your own.

...and for next time, if you have opened the save, you should no longer post in this thread. Instead, for questions about game mechanics and such, you can either send a Private Message to the game admin (me in this case) or AlanH, or post in one of the Spoiler Threads if you have met the conditions for that spoiler.

Lets say Mozart is in the game, having invented music...If I am the first to "research" music, do I still get the Free artist? Or did MOzart get him from the start? Or does no-one get the free artist?

If someone else already has the tech, you do not receive the bonus for being first to research that tech.
