News: BOTM 66 Results and Congratulations

Well what a game! This was Always Peace, which meant no wars against any AI’s. Amazingly, WastinTime pulled off a conquest victory. I think that’s got to be one of the most impressive achievements I’ve seen in a GOTM, and a great demonstration of the resourcefulness of the GOTM community! Quite a few people also managed domination victories, but shulec managed the fastest one, in 1480AD. The map was deliberately designed to ensure peaceful domination might be possible, but even so it’s a remarkable achievement. The gold medal went to conquistador63 for his impressive 1665AD space ship victory and a score of just over 150 thousand. Despite the Always Peace Setting, every victory type (except Time) was represented.

Altogether 55 people submitted entries, and of those 46 managed victories of some sort. Most of the remainder were down to bad luck – people getting overtaken by AI cultural victories.

Impressive with a conquest victory. I guess it was the plan all along running with the settler in a straight line hoping to meet some AI. Never got around to play this game myself.

Wastin definitely has the impressive game here. Reminds me of Dhoom's conquest win in a Vanilla GOTM some time ago, I think as Cathy.

Really impressive Wastin'! I did the exact thing running towards Ragnar (I think I settled more to the west of the wheat instead), but one settler slipped in and I ragequitted (so usual lately ). Unlike me, you had the mastery to avoid this and won a conquest victory.

You are definitely ze master of HoF. Sheddin' good light on us to the detractors.

That's what you get when you gift jesusin 2 Great Artists. That's like candy for him

I had to use quite a bit of EP to grab domination, but probably none at all if I played smartly early on and just focused on grabbing more land in the old world, which would have been quite easy. Also, I did not do any GA conquest bombs like some of yall did. Honestly, I was afraid that it would not work against a capital city, but apparently it does.
