COTM 49: Celts!



After doing a some last minute tests, the saves are up!

Civilization: Celts
Rivals: 7 pre-selected
Barbarians: Roaming
Difficulty: Deity
Land Form: Pangaea, 70% ocean, Standard map.
Geology:4 billion years old, Normal and Warm.
AI Aggression: Normal

Conquest-Class Bonuses:

  1. 3 Bonus Spearmen
    Knowledge of Alphabet
    100 more Bonus Gold
    GS's have Bombard ratings of 3-1-2

Open-Class Modifications:

  1. GS's have Bombard ratings of 3-1-1

Predator-Class Obstacles:

  1. GS's have Bombard ratings of 2-0-1
    Do not know Ceremonial Burial
    AI Bonus Unit Support per City upped to 5

To be clear:

So, at predator, gallics get a defensive bombard, but not an offensive one?
At open, they get an offensive bombard nearly as strong as a cat?
At conquest, they get an offensive bombard with 2 shots?
 
Pretty much.

Predator - defensive bombard only and only if not used to attack during your turn, with a strength of 2 (same as a Longbow's defensive shot)

Open - defensive bombard if the GS didn't attack on your turn, and an Offensive bombard strength of 3 in lieu of an attack if desired; if successful you will take 1 hp off the defending unit.

Conquest - same as Open, but with a 2 rate of fire, you might take 2 hp's off a unit. You do not get 2 bombards.

I had to do a bit of testing to verify that the GS did perform as desired. I haven't tested the AI's UUs that were modified, but they should work the same way. Since I added some bombard capability to the AI I felt I couldn't completely shut out the Predator players, so they get a defensive shot.
