News: GOTM 23 Pre-Game Discussion

Fewest lost? Okay, although most killed seems a lot less wimpy... :aargh: :aargh: :aargh: :ar15:

Yeah, most kill is more combative, but also more susceptible for milking. Not that I suspect you of trying that, but I wanted to remove that temptation from your peace-mongering alter ego.

I'm undecided whether to roam a bit with the settler or not. It is Epic speed so I probably will.
Arid makes me skeptical about wanderlust. Kind of seems like good sites are going to be few and far between. If you're looking for commerce, you might just settle W and make a mess of cottages, or make your second city your finance center.

I'll be settling in place, bee-lining IW and conquering the world with Swords. And if Erkon believes that, I've got some cheap midnight-sunshine-in-a-can for him... ;) I can't share any details of my plan because Erkon will just make a feeble attempt to copy it, obviously, but it clearly involves correcting all "our" mistakes from a recent group effort. ;)

My first GOTM! Sorry to all those who were disappointed by the Noble level, because i'm thrilled! At least i have a shot of posting a victory, no matter what the score...

Wish me luck!

Kick what? Is that a euphemism or are you recognizing my copyright? [pimp]

Yay! A noble GoTM - I'm for this one although I agree with Ainwood on the Ring map and I hate arid temperature :(

Anyways, it's worth joining the discussion just to see those two Contenders dying in 1400 BC ;)

... Okay, I am on my first try at the Test game by Jungle... I am just about to reach gunpowder in 740 AD... I think Arid terrain is annoying :(

I may try a religion fueled cultural victory on this one, using the extra commerce from the lake to grab as many early religions as possible and then go cathedral crazy.

Don't think that will work. Tried that myself a few times using the test map & was beaten out on all 3 early religions.
