Vote now, and discuss here!

Neither like the last era.

We still have playstation 2, gamecube, and xbox. Neither company died.

I reckon the PS3 will win overall. The Blu Ray capability gives it the edge. Although it is quite a hefty price tag. The Wii looks very interesting though.

Nintendo.

The other two doesn't really bring to the table anything that a PC doesn't.

PS3 is probably going down teh drain.

For a time Play station 3 As it's the newest console(best graphics, sound etc, etc) But this is one market where the competition is excellent, and no game console ever wins,so the next generation console will win, but there is no end at the moment so no one will win, and consumers will keep on keeping on with it. Perfect system of competition. Great games great consoles and the consumer benefits.

Eventually microchip technology will not be able to keep up and the miniturisation quantum effects will stop such great consoles developing further, but let's hope quantum computing(nano technology based on light not electrons) Will get there and keep this ball running :)

Well, we do, but the question asked which next-generation console will 'win' (read: collect the most marketshare).

Eventually, the PS2, GC, and Xbox will become last-generation and everybody will have moved on to the new generation of consoles.

How do you determine what "wins". Most sales?

They all did well financially so i dont really see a point.

Well i know that all systems are sold at a loss.

*Shrug* ive heard that before. But its the games that make up.

I just no they all did well.

Not true. The 'newest' concole is technically the Wii, whihc launched a few days after the PS3. As the trend goes, Nintendo simply cannot lose. They make money on every console sold and every game sold, and they are already way ahead of PS3 and catching up to XBox2 which released last year. Conversely, Sony has a very real possibility of losing and losing big. They lose about $200 per console sold, and get back only $8 or so per title. Sony is also suffering from a huge manufacturing shortfall. At $600 per console, Sony may very well lose.

I agree though to be fair nih you can get a cheaper one for $499. I forget what it doesnt include though.

However its still very expensive for the average gamer. Not to mention the launch games ALL SUCKED BIG TIME!

Depends. I see two 'winners' here.

The Wii will win by broadening the existing pool of gamers. Nintendo was very wise to opt out of competing directly with Sony and MS on this. I don't expect the Wii to match the final dollar amounts of whoever wins the traditional console market, but it will do well enough to keep Nintendo rolling along.

As for the traditional market, well, Japan is always flaky, but from what I've seen, the 360 is clearly the better machine for the price. I strongly suspect that Sony has screwed herself but good on this one.

The Wii looks the most badass, because its different.

And why is it called a 'wee'? Someone at Nintendo did not think it through.

I always thought it was called Wii because it closely resembles the word Wi-fi which is what nintendo endorses.
