Yeah, some of them frustratingly so. For instance, in my Egypt game, I made it a priority to get the Pyramids (and did) and build a Sphinx next to it to get the achievement, and then only afterwards realized I needed to build the Pyramids on flood plains, and I used a desert tile.
In my only game as Brazil so far, I mis-read the requirements for the "2016 ready" achieve. I thought you had to build the macarena stadium thingy and christo redentor in your empire, but they have to be in the same city. Oh well, now I know I'll get it next time around.

Gentelmen, I think you're wrong :)
Check Achievements - we've got 10 new hidden ones.
Seems like new DLC is coming!

That wasn't the small patch though.

With 16Mb they gave us just 10 Steam achievements (icons, names etc), hidden until DLC is released.
DLC itself will be available later and will have of course larger size.
I wonder what is new :)

Nothing just a C++ redist

C++ is the programming language for this game right guys? So this could just simply be a few code fixes (this redist is just for the pc as a whole right? similar to a directx update?) I wonder why thye released it last night?

To trigger us! Like 90% they do is just to keep us on our heels! :p

Things I'm looking for to signal an impending patch/DLC:

1) The 2Kqa builds to stop updating, while the Mac/Linux qa builds update 1 last time to show that they're on the same version as the 2K build. (This just happened, but there's still plenty of time for the 2Kqa build to update again, probably several hours from now)

2) The DLC03 depots and DLC to be attached to the Deluxe Edition package

3) Various other depot updates, including the Redist

4) The DLC03 depots to be unencrypted

I feel like a seismologist trying to predict a volcanic eruption based on earthquake data. lol

A pattern I noticed:
Monday Jan. 23rd: The DLC03 depot for PC was created and encrypted
Wednesday Feb 1st: The DLC depots for Mac and Linux were created
Wednesday Feb 8th: The DLC depots for Mac and Linux switch from unused to encrypted
Wednesday Feb 15th: The Achievements were added

Aside from the initial Monday, all things regarding the DLC03 happened on a Wednesday. Food for thought.

I assume no patch today based on the fact that the linux and mac QA got updated and I believe they talked about cross platform multiplayer?

I would tend to think so, but the last Mac/Linux qa update may just be a quick test to make sure everything works superficially before the patch.

My feel is that the 2Kqa builds do the brunt of the testing and they occasionally port it over to Mac and Linux to make sure nothing fouls up in the crossover.

Remember to no look into it too hard. If no patch today then basically its almost im putting a 99% chance on a patch by next friday morning. Also if no 2kqa updates by 6pm eastern time then I would be getting sweaty palms for a patch that day.

Do you remember how long it was from achievement pop up to patch release. Im almost certain it was a week out?

Back in December it was 19 days.

True as im seeing all 3 are 163xxxx, do you assume that that is the base version number witht he xxxx numbers being associated with differences in software enviroments between platforms? Reason I wonder this is that Linux version just was released and already we are seeing patch activity correlate with the other 2 platforms. Now im probably reading into it toooooo much :crazyeye::lol:

That's why I made a list. I missed a few achievements that way, until I made a short list. I almost always chose a random leader, so it took awhile to get all of them, as well as finish the game with them. The hardest ones are the situational ones (ie Pyramids and Sphinx next to each other, both on flood plains). The American one with Yosemite and the other wonder both in your empire, etc. For those ones I'm used a file card, and wrote out the needs to complete. As I did them, I removed the cards. For the leaders, I just kept playing, until I realized I only needed Pericles and Victoria. While I had played games with them, I had never finished with them.
