Next patch anticipation thread

Ouch. Didnt the December patch update a 2kqa and then release the same day? or the next day?

To be honest, I can't remember. But it would be odd to update the primary qa builds and barely test them. So I would expect the last 2K qa build update to be a day or 2 before the patch.

They just adjusted the Achievements' generic names to say DLC03.

All of them?
Not only 9, so the 10th might be something like "Start the SDK once." ?

Someone on Reddit presupposed the following:
2 achievements for a new leader/civ
1 for winning a scenario on diety
4 for winning a scenario as different civs
3 for download/run/win with a mod

It seems unlikely to me though that the SDK would be part of the DLC rather than the patch.

The 3 for the downloading a mod would only be implemented if they were making downloading mods official. *fingers crossed*

Things I'm looking for to signal an impending patch/DLC:

1) The 2Kqa builds to stop updating, while the Mac/Linux qa builds update 1 last time to show that they're on the same version as the 2K build. (This just happened, but there's still plenty of time for the 2Kqa build to update again, probably several hours from now)

2) The DLC03 depots and DLC to be attached to the Deluxe Edition package

3) Various other depot updates, including the Redist

4) The DLC03 depots to be unencrypted

I feel like a seismologist trying to predict a volcanic eruption based on earthquake data. lol

A pattern I noticed:
Monday Jan. 23rd: The DLC03 depot for PC was created and encrypted
Wednesday Feb 1st: The DLC depots for Mac and Linux were created
Wednesday Feb 8th: The DLC depots for Mac and Linux switch from unused to encrypted
Wednesday Feb 15th: The Achievements were added

Aside from the initial Monday, all things regarding the DLC03 happened on a Wednesday. Food for thought.

You should get paid for this. And/or get a degree in Patchology

That's why I asked if all of them are labeled DLC03. :)
Because I also suspect that there might be a few achievements that are connected to the patch, in case we are getting the SDK!
Achievements like:

The Pioneer: "Win a regular game on a custom map."
The Creator: "Access the World Builder from the game's main menu." (<< now that would be a cool little gimmick!)
The Refunder: "Log into CFC and blame the devs why feature XY wasn't included into the SDK yet, and that you want your monies back!!!11"

Yes, all 10 have been changed to the DLC 03 nomenclature.

Man I'm checking this thread at least 3 times a day looking for news. Seems like we'll be getting DLC in the not too distant future due to the new achievements.

*crosses fingers*

Is t possible that Isabella of Portugal was correct, and we will be getting Portugal? Sorry, I don't know too much about history/history of Portugal to know if she is an appropriate leader for that civ
Thinking back 7months to the extensive debate we had about the leader portraits, I think the reasoning against this is that, if it WAS Isabella of Portugal, she would have appeared before Phillip II of Spain rather than after. Since the leader portraits were all listed alphabetically by Civ, the majority assumed they just pulled the wrong picture of Isabella of Spain (Castile). Everyone doing their own google image searches for Isabella of Castile had the same issue with that same picture of Isabella of Portugal coming up as a result.

George Washington's Birthday is the 22nd. Seems like good timing to release GW as a leader. The Greeks are still the only 2 leader civ.

Nooo!! Wasn't there some ruthless psychopathic maniac leader (that's what I think most of them were, no matter how cute their virtual entity in the game might look like, or how noble their desc in the Civilopedia might sound) in the history of mankind, who had his/ her birthday let's say... today?!

Yes, all 10 have been changed to the DLC 03 nomenclature.

Okay, thanks! :)

Well, Portugal would at least fits the exploration theme (but so would the Netherlands)!
