no maintainence for despotism?

Does anyone, like me, think that no maintainence should be paid at all for despotism. I mean you're a despot for goodness sake, you don't care about the people.

"I don't care, why should I be maintaining that temple that you all go to. I BUILT IT, remember? You lowly a**holes should be glad I did, so don't you even dare ask me for maintainence or I'll send a couple of warriors to wipe out your village. Yah, and all those stupid pieces of SH*T in my army should stop complaining of not being paid, you should glad you get the chance to serve me, so shut up! I'm your ruler, remember that!"

Well, if you don't pay maintance on something, it usually will fall apart...would you like your temples, barracks, granarys, etc to fall apart after 20 years so that they have no affect?

Your "lowly citizens" can't maintain stuff without money from you...think about the real real world.
