No offense but....

I don't use the 'no offense' line.

My very presence seems to offend some people!:D

but if you're not joking...
He's not joking.

You can use the 'report to a mod' function to recommend a thread to be closed, but to post about closing someone's thread publicly is impolite at the very least.

I think...

Lefty doesn't know the meaning of the word "joke". :p ;)

@Achinz: I use that rarley and only with people I highly respect to whom I am about to say something they might take as an insult. Thorgrimm is the only one that comes to mind to whom I have nothing but the utmost respect for (besides you TF :p ;) )

If you go back to the post where I "recommended" this thread to be closed, you'll notice I've ended it with a :)

I was obviously joking, and had no intention to really ask for the thread to be closed, because it is not offensive at all.

There is another forum where I post and everybody there is always posting about closing each other's threads, all in a good spirit.

But if the mods do not tolerate this behaviour here, I'll respect it.

OK let the acronyms nom and wadr be added to the Web posting vocabulary wdrt the nuances implied (which sould be taken with a grain of salt - twagos - given the characteristics of the poster).

Huh? Could you please explain what these acronyms mean? I cannot seem to make heads or tails of it, particularily the last part of your post.

OK they follow from my previous posts above:

nom = no offence meant
wadr = with all due respect
wrt = with respect to (I thought this was common enough)
twagos = taken with a grain of salt (already given!) meaning not to be taken too literally, in case you do not know (icydnk) ;)

Hmmm. Maybe I spent too many years in the military. I figured out the acronyms you used quite quickly.

Oh, I understand them now. Dang, I usually am good at figuring out acronyms, me and V2010, we constantly make them, and change them too. But then again, this is Friday, and I am tired after a boring week of school *big yawn*

No offense but your not very offensive. :p

NO OFFENSE but (insert name of team or player--depending on sport and season) has a great defense.

or in a more civilized context, the 1-4 Swiss Mercenary has no offense but a great defense.

"No offense but" shouldn't be banned, just used differently.

I don't drive defensively, I drive offensively. Let the other guy play defense.

somewhat off topic. Of course Lefty knows the meaning of the word "joke". He knows all, sees all and (well the forgiving part may be against company policy.)
