No Ui when playing Unofficial Patch and Vanilla Enchanced 101!

Hi i am having Ui problems when using this mod.

I start the game and a new campaign as soon as i establish my first city i get a msg on the top of my screen saying bug report failed to load UI.

Then when i try to click on a production nothing pops up.But i can move my characters just fine.

I played the old version of this mod and it worked just fine before i upgraded yesterday.can someone please tell me what the issue might be thank you.

Some more information would be helpful for anyone trying to help you figure this out: what other mods are you using? Is your version of civ up to date? Did you clear the cache folder? Etc.

In answer to your ??? yes i cleared the Cache,Yes my game is up to date,Here is
the list of mods i currently have active now mind you i tested each one and this was the only mod that caused the Ui problems.

(3) CCMAT II is probably the culprit. It hasn't been updated in quite some time and VEM is a major component of it. Delete this and try.

5 and 12 I'm not familiar with, but if they are major overhaul mods like VEM there is probably compatibility issues there too. I'm pretty sure everything else should work correctly with VEM, but I can't be 100% sure.

Your best bet when encountering strange things like no UI is to use a scientific method and narrow the variables as much as possible (eg, load VEM with only one other mod, if it works load another, and so on until you see the problem arise again).

Hi thank you for being so helpful.I have good news i just decided to just reinstall my game from scratch as i was just tired of the issues i was having and after i did that i just installed City state Diplomacy 25,the Unofficial patch and vanilla enhanced v101 and Have fun mod ran the game for 30 turns and it ran fine so i am elated to say the least.

My theories on the issue was in line with your suggestions i believe ccmat 2 and the other mods where causing issues.

I think i am just going to stick to the newest mods just released after the latest patch as strongly believe that the other older mods have not being updated to be compatible with the latest patch.I am just glad i got the 2 mods i mentioned above to work as there my favorites.Again Thank You.

Hi i am back again two Questions for you. Is unofficial patch and vanilla enhanced v 105 compatible with Dx9?

And also is it compatible with the Alpha Centuri Mod by Spatz ?

Because every time i try to start a new campaign my game crashes.Thanks

This mod is not compatible with Spatz's mods. I haven't tried it on dx9, but since this mod adds no significant new graphics, I don't think any problems could occur.

Sort of correct As time has gone on, my Content mod has become less compatible with others because I end up having to modify more and more of the UI windows to make it work well. As things settle down I'll see what I can do to make it more compatible with things like Thal's mods, but no promises. But most of the XML conflicts are located in the Balance mod (say, where my change to a Policy conflicts with Thal's change to the same Policy), so the intention was always that you'd be able to use my Content mod with someone else's Balance mod and have it work. I haven't tested recently to see if this still works, but that's the intent.

That being said, there's really no reason that most of the big mods can't be made to be a bit more compatible than they currently are. For instance, quite a few mods use some variation of Whys' Custom Notification framework (albeit expanded to add tech-related icons, project-related icons, etc.), and there's no reason these can't be merged. A lot of the changes people have made to UI files like TechButtonInclude, InfoTooltipInclude, UnitPanel, etc. are pure improvements and so would be easy to merge together into a single Community version. But, there'll still be some incompatibilities, because in the end most of us are editing the same things.
 
I agree, and have been working at merging UI enhancements for the game into the unofficial patch. There's work from about ten authors in there so far. :)
