None Shall Pass 2 [Game Thread - Concluded]

Just FYI, Sprig (and everyone else) I'm currently on vacation in Florida, so I'm doing my best to keep up, but it's difficult. Rest assured that I'm paying attention to everything though.

Here's where I stand. spaceman98 should not be lynched at all today. Double A and christos200 need to die. Why? Double's flinch, for one, and christos is just not being helpful. We don't need unhelpful people in this game.

"Oh hello, pot...call the kettle some other things too while you're at it."

Yeah, I know I tend to be quiet in these games. However, I have been in communication with several people in this game, including Winston before his tragic death. I believe spaceman to be on the up-and-up. He will be extremely helpful this game.

And this is why…?

Probably general suspicion from the dead player vote. If you aren't paying attention to the fine details, perhaps you have a goal other than finding scum? Alternatively, you just made a mistake, but that never happens in mafia!

Since Civ General might well auto at this point, and we can always lynch him later if he conveniently pops up to avoid that outcome.

Vote: Double A

And this is why…?

You post enough that you should've known Visorslash is dead.

Of course he's going to claim he can't convert, he's a bloody cultist caught with his pants down. Let's just leave him alive while he secretly works to convert us, that's just a brilliant idea.

I think spaceman is being a little bit vague. He notes all Jedi but I don't think he meant it intentionally. I note that Winston in his reveal to Bsmith states Jedi Council.

Painting all Jedi as possibly dangerous is foolish. Also, basing the outcome of one Jedi against the rest would be just as foolish.

And secondly - considering you role... you should know this better than anyone.

To have a Major Victory, I have to outlive the Jedi Order. I assumed that all Jedi would be Jedi Order, but if there are non-affiliated Jedi, my conversion PM says nothing about them and so presumably the Empire has no quarrel with them (assuming they aren't working with Morgoth :p).

re Double A: I'm perfectly fine with a Double A lynch (incidentally, why no message this time Double A?). My one concern is that since its two lynches today, right now either I or christos are going to be the second lynch. I don't think either of us should hang today since as I understand, both of our roles can provide useful information to the town. Thus we need to come up with someone else as lynch #2.

CivG is an ok candidate, but we probably get more information from pressuring semi-actives than AFKs.

Another person with only two posts in thread so far is Topsecret http://forums.civfanatics.com/search.php?searchid=2703680

He voted for Dingdong, but that was after even I had realized that Winston's lynch was a foregone conclusion and (unenthusiastically) bussed, so I'm not sure that tells us much.

Speak up, or be lynch #2 today.

Enough!! Vote: Takhisis-san you disrespect the quest with your brevity.
fFoS: KingMorgan for trying to lynch me.
Here's where I stand. spaceman98 should not be lynched at all today.
fFoS: Verarde for wanting the cult to be kept alive.

Bloody hell, how many times do I need to post the QFT quote?
You post enough that you should've known Visorslash is dead.
I see two problems with that:
  • there's no such thing as posting enough
  • Read again what I posted and the QFT.

There's no mafia faction in this game, but he scanned me, and I'm really not a townie, though I don't pose any threat to the town.
I don't know how I missed this. You are such a bloody liar, spaceman98.

Hai, geimumasuteru Zaku-sama.

spaceman98 Wait, so why do people think that the Empire faction is not one the "threats to the town"?

What's the deal about double A flinching? I didn't quite catch that.

Any literate person would know that exterminating Double A is always a good course of action according to my mind.

I can't help but agree with azzaman. Why should we take his word for it that he can't convert anyone? Should we have taken Count Dingdong's word for it that he was what he claimed to be when that clearly wasn't the case?

Vote: spaceman98

For some reason I forgot to put that in the above post.

so we're good with the spaceman lynch, sure, I get that. He's fine for one of the two lynchees

I haven't really been reading but I mean, does he really think civgeneral is the one to "pressure"? only a d1 random vote happened from him.

Why not actually pressure the various people that responded to count dingdong's situation with "nah um let's all go aboard the Winston ship"

so that's lazy from spaceman, although I'm inclined to believe what he says. Regardless, he is one of the TWO lynches.

There's a morgothian faction. Or are you claiming that you are literally an Italian guy in a suit? fos: Takhisis

For everyone still voting to lynch me because cult and stuff:

1: If the empire was genuinely anti-town, wouldn't Zack have given us cover roles? Yet we have confirmed townie Visor's words to prove that we lacked them. A game in which one of the most prominent anti-town factions lacks cover roles is just a poorly balanced game. The Morgothians had them, after all.

2: At the start of the phase, a lot of people were questioning Christos's credibility. If I genuinely was anti-town, why shouldn't I have simply declared him to be lying, and gotten a large portion of the town rallied to my side to lynch the scanner?

3: I would like to reiterate what it says in the rules:

The bad guys could be anyone. Similarly, anyone can be good or neutral

Don't automatically assume that just because we're empire we're obviously evil. Heck, even in the original Star Wars Universe, after Palpatine dies the Thrawn Trilogy Empire and Imperial Remnant Empires steadily become less evil.

4: It is, IIRC, very rare for cults to retain their conversion ability after the cult leader is lynched.

I see two problems with that:

You may not post enough, but you post enough to know better. A small distinction, but an important one.

Also, I have no idea what you're getting at with the QFT or what you meant by it.

Also, until I said I was converted, it wasn't even public knowledge that the Empire ever WAS a cult. Nothing in Winston's words indicated that, after all. Why would I have revealed this if I was a still-active converter?

The sole Morgothian found had a cover role, doesn't mean they all have them. I would expect some townies to have cover roles and some scum not to have cover roles, given point 3 and the knowledge that a cover role scanner exists.

Lynch him, he flips town, you go down the next day because his scan is verified.

I'm not assuming you're evil because you're the Empire. I'm assuming you're evil because you're a freaking cult.

4: It is, IIRC, very rare for cults to retain their conversion ability after the cult leader is lynched.

It may be rare, but it is not worth the risk.

I didn't exist, now I do.

Pointing at KingMorgan just to have a vote down for the day(It *probably* won't stick), I will be making one tomorrow after I spend more time rereading.

4: It is, IIRC, very rare for cults to retain their conversion ability after the cult leader is lynched.

How do we know you're not lying? How do we know you weren't actually the cult leader, and Winston your convert?
