Noob Question

Hey, this is my first post here Anyways, I just picked up Civ4 last week at a garage sale, and am new to the series. From what I have played so far, I've come to the conclusion that the game is very fun and addictive I just wanted to know though do you need to have a road built to a reasource to be able to use it? And again, sorry if it is a complete n00b question lol

yes. without a road it only gives it's tile yield.

If it is riverside, however, you do not need to build a road to it. That is, rivers can count as roads by connecting resources and cities to your trade network. You can tell if you need to build a road to a resource my mousing over it and seeing if it says "Requires Route."

I put roads in almost every tile I own/use.
