Hey Cilpot!

Where's the table after round 3?

Brann - Tromsø 0 - 0, happy about that?

:)

Sorry, I posted this thread in another forum as well, and I thought I updated this one.. Table on the way! :)

Regarding Brann-Tromsø, yeah I'm happy with the result. Tromsø is never good against brann, so yeah.. Should be happy about this. One thing that worries me is Tromsø's inability to score goals even if they (we) have lots of chances. :(

It's a good thing Brann was even more inefficient!

Table:
Code:
Start 3	2	1	0	5-2	7
Fredrikstad	3	2	1	0	4-2	7
Viking 3	2	0	1	6-4	6
Ham-Kam 3	2	0	1	5-3	6
Vålerenga	3	2	0	1	6-5	6
Tromsø 3	1	2	0	2-1	5
Brann 3	1	1	1	3-2	4
Aalesund	3	1	1	1	5-5	4
Odd Grenland	3	1	1	1	4-4	4
Rosenborg	3	1	1	1	3-3	4
Lillestrøm	3	1	0	2	3-6	3
Lyn 3	0	2	1	2-3	2
Bodø/Glimt	3	0	0	3	2-5	0
Molde 3	0	0	3	1-6	0

Next round:

Sunday 1/5 (Round 4)
Start - Viking
Lillestrøm - Rosenborg
Fredrikstad - Odd Grenland
Bodø/Glimt - Ham-Kam
Lyn - Molde
Tromsø - Vålerenga

Monday 2/5 (Round 4)
Aalesund - Brann

I expect Fredrikstad will win their match this round. In fact that's the only 'safe bet', I believe, and its not that safe. Lots of exciting matches!

Start - Viking; the big game of round #4. I have a bad feeling about FFK this time tho. They have been lucky so far :)

It's going to be an exciting Sunday - football for us, the rest will march in the streets.
Too bad 0105 will be on a Sunday this year.

The results of the fourth round after the last match finished today:

Sunday:
Start - Viking 5-2
Lillestrøm - Rosenborg 1-1
Fredrikstad - Odd Grenland 1-1
Bodø/Glimt - Ham-Kam 2-0
Lyn - Molde 6-1
Tromsø - Vålerenga 0-1 :(

Monday:
Aalesund - Brann 1-3

Wich gives us the following table:

Code:
Start 4	3	1	0	10-4	10
Vålerenga	4	3	0	1	7-5	9
Fredrikstad	4	2	2	0	5-3	8
Brann 4	2	1	1	6-3	7
Ham-Kam 4	2	0	2	5-5	6
Viking 4	2	0	2	8-9	6
Lyn 4	1	2	1	8-4	5
Odd Grenland	4	1	2	1	5-5	5
Rosenborg	4	1	2	1	4-4	5
Tromsø 4	1	2	1	2-2	5
Aalesund	4	1	1	2	6-8	4
Lillestrøm	4	1	1	2	4-7	4
Bodø/Glimt	4	1	0	3	4-5	3
Molde 4	0	0	4	2-12	0

The biggest surprise this round was that Start smashed title challenger Viking an impressive 5-2. Even if the score does not show an entirely correct image of the match.

Molde looks even more lost after a decisive defeat against Lyn (or FC Lyn Oslo, as they are called today). The fantasticly talented 18 year old player Jon Obi Mikel, Lyn, really proved he had potential this round, having just signed for Manchester United where he's bound after the season. The fee is speculated to be around £6m. Impressive win by Lyn, who also recently got ex-ManU player Henning Berg as manager.

The disappointments this round definantly are Viking and Molde, as mentoned, and also Fredrikstad. I really believed they would win after an impressive start of the season. They should beat a team like Odd at home if they are to be involved in the title race. Tromsø also disappointed me a bit, but I didn't really think they would win against Vålerenga with a fully armed and operational battle station called Steffen Iversen. They never loose with him on the pitch.

Brann won an expected win over Aalesund. What that match showed more than anything was that Aalesund lacks qualities in most places in their squad. I really don't think their good enough to compete in the Elite Division. A shame, really, as they have a nice new stadium and a very enthusiastic and large group of supporters.

Bodø/Glimt won their first match against capable Ham-Kam, leaving Molde alone in the bottom. Good for them, HamKam is always hard to beat. But I still believe they will be relegated. Rosenborg disappointed again.. I'm starting to doubt that they'll win the league this year, but its still early.

Next round already this thursday:

Thursday 5/5 (round 5)
Brann - Bodø/Glimt
Ham-Kam - Fredrikstad
Odd Grenland - Lillestrøm
Rosenborg - Start
Viking - Lyn
Vålerenga - Aalesund
Molde - Tromsø

IIRC last year was more about the other teams being uneven than about Rosenborg being good. If Vålerenga, Brann and the others can maintain the good form throughout the season (at least better than last year) Rosenborg will have to struggle.

Both Brann and Vålerenga have lots of young players who are now one year older and wiser, or players in their prime. While Rosenborg's main players are in their mid 30's. They being one year older is clearly negative for RBK.

In short: I'm starting to think Rosenborg won't win. In fact I think they'll end up 3rd or 4th.

(Ok, it's allowed to dream, isnt it? ;) Tromsø for gold! )

Pun, pun, pun... It's just their good, er, start. They will collapse sooner or later.

Rosenborg started slow last year as well...

Yes they did, but only bad compared to their previous season. This season they've started much worse than that.

This is was the table after round four in 2004

Odd Grenland	4	5 - 1	8
Rosenborg 4	5 - 2	8
Vålerenga 4	5 - 3	8
Ham-Kam 4	4 - 2	6
Lyn 4	3 - 3	5
Brann 4	4 - 3	4
Lillestrøm 3	4 - 3	4
Stabæk 4	4 - 5	4
Molde 4	3 - 5	4
Fredrikstad 4	3 - 6	4
Bodø/Glimt 4	2 - 6	3
Viking 3	1 - 5	2
Sogndal 4	3 - 8	1

And this after round four in 2003

Vraslosken should be happy with Start this season :)

Vraslosken? Never seen him around here.

I think that bingen is a Norwegian too (for your list). Haven't seen him recently either.

bingen?!?!?? :ack:

Vraslosken started the original Norwegian Football thread and he participated in the previous one.

Oh - I see... I'm the n00b here

bingen, yes I believe that was his name.

Good luck tommorow!

Edit: here you go - bingen.

Thursday 5/5-2005 (round 5):

Brann - Bodø/Glimt 2-3
Ham-Kam - Fredrikstad 1-1
Odd Grenland - Lillestrøm 0-2
Rosenborg - Start 3-0
Viking - Lyn 0-0
Vålerenga - Aalesund 3-1
Molde - Tromsø 2-1

First victory for Molde yesterday (I know why Cilpot isn't here today). Fredrikstad yet to be beaten! And a disappointing act by Brann.

I'll leave it to Cilpot to make the table.

:)
