There's one Q i wanna ask, and i hope it doesnt get too much critisism...

How many people have licenced Civ2 copies?
How many people have not-so-licenced copies?

I have an original copy of Civilisation II Gold.

But I think that those who don't have it are perfectly right to ask for copies; originals are so difficult to find...

I also want to say that in Civ's case getting a copy would really be an ultimate resort for me as I consider that it is one of those games that you MUST have!

I bought my copy of Classic 2.42 from second-hand market and payd $10 for it.

Hey

The reason i asked is that i myself have a not-so-licensed copy, which i am not proud of. Actually, it's even worse than that - it's a cdr copy of an unlicensed copy. And it's not that i'm a scrudge (which i am) to pay money for the game, but here in Lithuania there's no place to get an original copy. And i don't really want to buy one via the internet. I mean, why pay money to game distributors when you don't have to?
I give my thanks to Sid and his staff for such a game, and i try to "pay" for my copy in other ways, like helping people out in civ forums and chat

I had a copy of MGE I got off the internet, but when I saw it on sale, I bought it anyways. Sid created a great game, and getting illegal games made by him disrupts his livelihood.

My copy is fully licensed. I wouldn't cheat Sid Meier for making such a great game. But those bastards at Blizzard Entertainment...

I've never liked them or any of the software that they have produced.

Warcraft was okay for a game of its time. But then again, it's just a clone of Command and Conquer.

I might download Warcraft 3. But then again, it might not be worth it

I bought 2.42 and MGE at a place called Computer City. They are now defunct.Too bad it was darn good store.
I paid $65CDN each. That was a few years ago but man I feel like I got burned.Well..kinda...Civ is worth $1000s to me

Well I have liscensed copies of Civ dos, Civ win, CivNet, Civ 2 2.42, Civ 2 Fantastic Worlds (2.7.8), and Civ 2 MGE 1.3. I don't really mind "unliscensed" copies cause some games are ridiculous in price or extremely hard to find. But I do believe if you really like a game you should try to buy a copy. That is why I own a copy of the Civs I do as well as WarCraft 2 ToD, BtDP, and BNE. (I don't care what you say that game is still awesome).

well, i doubt it's very easy to buy an unlicensed copy in the states, anyway...

The fact of the matter is that where we live to have a licenced copy is strange. But not in the states.

I played a friends copy of Civ 2 for ages until I bought my own (only out of necessity, I moved away) I bought Test of Time becuase it dropped to £10, but not after I'd watsed £15 on Alpha Centuri.

Anyone want to swap my licensed A.C. for anything at all? A dead goat perhaps?

I don't think much of A.C.

I borrowed Fishheads Classic Civ 2 for a year or so....but about...oh....3 years ago now I bought MGE Second hand for $15.
