Personally, size 10.5. Big enough I'd say. Feet are covered, and little room to maneuver. That means I'm fast on my feet, for my size. I use my shoes to get around, but I also used to climb a bit. Feels good!

You?

Hang on, I'll have to check...

... it says (9) (11) on the sole.

What's it mean?

I like my shoes roomy, btw, as my feet tend to spread in summer. And in winter I like extra socks.

Maybe 9 long 11 wide?

12s are comfy.

Conversely you could figure that smaller gradations are more convenient for smaller feet. So we're designed around having a more approachable system for small fellers?

Listen, for the last time, the size of one's feet is no indication of the size of other things.

And besides, size isn't everything.

Pretty inconvenient, frequently, tbh.

I think it's 9 UK. 11 US. (You know how Americans like to imagine they're bigger, and better, than everyone else in every way. Poor lost souls that they are.)

We just have more room to grow. You Brits are espaliered into little man-shaped citizens, we grow wild on the prairie, as big as we dare. :smug:

That sounded a whole lot more offensive than I intended it to be...

So which would you prefer: a neatly clipped hedge in prime health, or an unruly diseased jungle?

(I jest. Naturally. The British are notorious for being, and having been, malnourished and down-trodden. It was only when the authorities wanted to fight a serious war - looking for healthy-ish cannon fodder and not finding any - that they began taking serious notice of public health issues.)

It's like 9 or 10 or 11 or something like that.

I never know, I get my feet measured when I go buy new shoes. There's different standards for soccer cleats, hiking shoes, runners, etc. so that it would pretty much mean I'd have to remember different numbers for different types of shoes. Instead I just go in, confess my ignorance, and have some guy measure my feets.

Oh god do I ever hate buying shoes...

I only buy cheap shoes - so I don't even have the luxury, and embarrassment, of someone measuring my feet.

I just try them on from a rack.

I think I'm about 9-10, though sometimes I end up with 11s depending on the brand...

Shoes are history for me.

I hate sizing. It depends on the type of shoe and it depends on how much my body hates me. I was wearing size 12s a few years ago. I'm down to a 9.5 today. Feels bad, man.

What's up with continental Europe then?
