NotW XXX: Dark Radiance Game Thread

I'm very sorry sir. It was just idle talk. I don't know where my head's been lately.. I'll... I'll be up in the crow's nest if I'm needed. Once again... I... beg pardon.

Anyone seen the government rep? Seems like we could use some kind of a statement from him.

What I want to know is how the request for ammunition did not get through. It seems to me that either the soldier in charge of requesting more ammunition did not request it or someone else/others changed/countermanded the request! If so, that might give us an idea of the murder/ers (or maybe traitors who are not involved in the murder anyway).

I was the one who sent the request, and I am sure I specifically requested that from HQ. Either there's some incompetent guys down there (wouldn't surprise me), or someone up here or along the way altered the request (also wouldn't surprise me).

Perhaps it mysteriously 'disappeared' when it was in the train?

After her musical performance, the 1st Private seems to be away for a bit of time before returning to the others to adress them again.

"Please listen, everyone. I've talked to a handful of you already - you know who you are - but that is not nearly enough. I am putting my life on the line for our mutual security here. I would like it best that everyone had spoken to me before day's end and I would have a proper picture of what is going on and whose fault that is.

At the moment I have knowledge of one person carrying a weapon, as well as some other interesting details, which I will share with the people who I deem most trustworthy. Those of you who refuse to talk to me are not in that category and will be considered prime suspects in this crime by me and anyone who listens to me.

Now, get going, people. If you want to talk to me, all you have to do is grab me-" she looks frowning on the flirting rifleman "- make that 'contact me' instead. Please. In the memory of those already dead in this struggle and for those who are to die if we fail."

Greetings. I am in charge of electrics here.
I am not familiar with this type of facility, but with my assistant I will serve all of your needs to the best of my ability.

After having a brief look at the corpse, the Engineer walks up to the Commander.

"Could we have an autopsy, please? Perhaps determining what was the exact cause of this poor lad's death could get us closer to what kind of man the murderer is and what he used to kill. It would give us some useful information."

The Engineer looks at the Communications Officer, complaining about the lack of supplies.

"I'm not blaming you. Chances are Home didn't process the request. If they're as competent with processing resupply requests as they are with background checks, our food and ammo are still at home. If they cannot identify potential murderers before they send 'em over here and let 'em have their way, we shouldn't expect them to handle a simple request without problems. Ah, those IDIOTS, those MORONS, who're all sitting safe and sound in their bunkers at Home..."

The Engineer trails off into a long-winded rant about 'imcompetent idiots at home' before realizing that either nobody's listening or that the whole of Company B-11 has become so used to complaints that they would not be paying heed to his words anyway, so he quits the ranting and seems to calm down a bit. Still, he doesn't look pleased at all.

(OOC: No time today, will be around tomorrow.)

The Train Guard shoots a glare at the Pilot.
No ammo disappeared from the train while I was guarding it. Choxorn saw the order sheet The Lemon had. We never got an order for more ammo. Somewhere between Choxorn's placing the order and our receiving the order from command central, the request for more ammo got lost or was removed.

"I'm worried about the amount of people voicing opinions in public without commiting themselves to our cause in person. PaulusIII, you seem to have plenty of voice, why don't you spend some of it convincing me that you are indeed on our side?"

I'd like to clear something up since there seems to be a little confusion. If on your character card under Strength it says: "3 (4)", that means 3 is your base strength, but the 4 is your actual strength after all modifers have been taken into account (like weapons and that sort of thing).

I suspected this was the case. Thanks for clearing up any confusion.

"Because, unlikely as it might seem for all those that have already been telling you all the details of their work, I'm not completely convinced of the fact that you are really on our side. I'd prefer to see some more concrete evidence of you being out for the good of Company B-11 before that. Call it paranoia, call it being overcautious, but a little caution tends to serve me better than just rushing into things."

Alright, TheForestAuro, I'm beginning to wonder why you haven't spoken up. It's getting close to midday, and I haven't seen hide nor hair of you. Methos, as second in command, shouldn't you be providing us with some leadership as well?

I agree, I think that 4 is your actual strength needs to be looked at with closer inspection. Nothing said all game? Scummy.

"Your caution is understandable, even despite it being unadvantageous to the faction you claim to serve, PaulusIII. I will hear your explanations in detail later, then.

I haven't heard from many of you - cook, Autolycus, Choxorn, Beefy, Blame and Nancy to name a few - please do take contact immidiately or as soon as you deem it responsible. For now I will restrain from voting against people who have voiced in public but not in private and turn my eyes on those who are completely silent. Backwards Logic."

Mama mia! I already-a told everyone in the whole-a crew whatta my weapons are-a. I don't have nothing-a, how many times do you want-a me to a-say it? I cannot even give-a you a spatula. You can arrest me and a throw me in the brig, but I can't produce a weapon out of-a thin air. Perhaps you'd a-prefer to frisk me to make-a sure.

The welder casually walks over to the 1st Private, double checks that she is in fact a 1st Private, scoffs, then laughs. He's a bit of a gruff individual, not known to have a lot of patience and on more than one occasion has ruffled some feathers with his to-the-point remarks.

"So, who stuck you in charge of marshaling everyone? What makes YOU so important that you gotta know just who has what and what not? If you had any brains at all, you would have figured out what my specialty is, but let me spell in out in case the the big letters on my jacket weren't clear enough. Hell, it's probably why you're still a first private... I'm a WELDER. I WELD things. Beyond that, seeing as I don't trust the lot of you, I'm not going into anymore details. Figure it out yourself. Anyway, what exactly does a first private do? You don't peel potatoes for the cook do you? I heard people of your status get relegated such things. Not that there's anything wrong with that mind you, but I can see why you'd now want something of consequence to do."

Those of you who refuse to talk to me are not in that category and will be considered prime suspects in this crime by me

That must be a fairly large category. I'm guessing... at least 25 of us?
