NotW XXX: Dark Radiance Game Thread

Lets not get to hasty now the accusations. As a biologist I've seen alot of what animals can do to each other, and I can tell you Benson died no normal death. Did you see how his face seemed to be drawn in on itself? That was caused by some sort of acid. And then those puncutre marks weren't made from bullets or a knife, those were bite marks.

(OOC note: All the description is RP, the only concrete details are acid and bite marks)

"Closer to 15, Choxorn, but you're still among them. Please, feel free to rid yourself of that definition by talking to me. Better late than never.

And welder; nobody put me in charge except myself. If you have any problem with me fighting for what I believe and the memory of the man I love, we can solve that once we've escaped this crisis alive. But since you have at least spoken publically, I will retract my vote on you and instead ask Love to speak up."

"Sorry. I'm a heavy sleeper. And years of bombing has ruined my hearing, couldn't hear the wakeup bell. Oh, what the hell?"

The artillery officer shook his head and shouted:

"Private Diamondeye, do I have to remind you that I have a higher military grade than you?"

After realizing that he had everyone looking at him, he lowered his voice.

"You do not have to be rude and accusing me for being silent. I thought that you could hear it by my snoring."

He changed mood and by a sudden had a broad smile on his face.

"Ooh! Do I smell grub worms? That's my favorite!"

"I'm starving. And can someone please care to explain what the hell is going on with this body?"

Diamondeye is being too pushy. Good cover for a guilty conscience. Now if it's not that, well, maybe she'd like to come visit me in my room and say so.

The 1st Corporal saunters off, a clear challenge in her eyes and her stance. Like most of the rest of the soldiers, she wears the regulation crew-cut and combat boots, but somehow on her the typical uniform looks a bit more ... pointed.

The ex-commander lay in his bed, he was a horrible shade of blue. New still reached him however and he signalled for one of the privates.
"Can someone go find Beefy187 and ask why he isn't doing his duty. I have received reports that power is out to some of the buildings."

The security officer accidentally blunders in front of the 1st Corporal's glare and catches a full blast of it.

Aah, aaaah, no please no! Renata is following me, she's following, creeping after me, eat my soul with prosciutto and arrabbiata sauce, sauce, sauce!

He snatches some duct tape from his pocket and waves it threateningly at Renata, then dashes off again.

"Captain Ripley reporting for duty. I think an autopsy could be a good idea, I would need the chemists support for the acidburns. And maybe the Biologist could take a look at our sick commander, I was never able to properly help him. If there´s a medical emergency let me know."

Ripley takes a closer look at the dead body.

My apologies Sprig. My fellow assistant Stee isn't the one to be blamed, but it is me. I was busy on the New Years celebration and so on, so I got here late. In order to get the power fully up and running, both Stee and I would have to discuss thoroughly where the electricity should be allocated to. Otherwise we would have electricity over lapping in some of the areas. And we have failed to communicate in advance.

We got in touch yesterday, and we will start doing our duties properly from next night onwards. My apologies once more.

Midday 1

After the shocking discovery of the early morning the excitement had died down a bit, but it had not dissipated. It seemed to have merely sunk beneath the surface, waiting to burst out again in fury at the slightest movement. The 1st Private coped with recent events by taking out her violin and idly playing an uplifting tune on it as she was in deep thought. It was quite evident that this had a positive effect on everyone's spirit as they listened to it. After her was song completed, the 1st Private herself began a crusade against anyone who would not openly voice their thoughts. Some went along with this idea, but still not everyone agreed with it. In the end though, it was the silent Government Representative that drew the most accusations.

Then suddenly, in the middle of the afternoon, a faint rumbling began to vibrate the floor just slightly. The lights flicked between their two states as the rumbling reached its crescendo. But then after just a few seconds, the whole thing was over. A quick role call was taken to make sure everyone was ok, but there was one person missing: Commander Frozen. Everyone had seen him around in morning talking to people or working on various tasks, but he was now gone. A note was found on the door to his office. It simply read: “No matter what happens here, do everything in your power to weed out the assassin among you.”

Alright, I'll think about it and get back to you. In the meantime, I've got to go back to my job of yelling at HQ and hoping they tell us something useful.

Khazaar, what are you doing poking around the corpse? He's dead, why don't you help out the sick and dying, not indulge us with your morbid fascinations.

Chemist reporting, those burns don't look like they came from any acid I know of

"I see Love is present, then. Unlike, say, j665?"

The 1st Private then looks at Renata with a freezing glance. Her upper lip curls slightly in disgust. "No matter what you are suggesting, I would like you to speak with me in private. If you think I'm a killer, say so out loud."

(OOC: I'll clean up my PM inbox and send the info I've gathered around to those I believe I can trust before the evening update so that nothing is lost if something should happen.)

"Ok is nobody in the least concerned that our commander JUST GOT UP AND LEFT?!"

The welder looks at Beefy and Diamondeye, shakes his head in disbelief, then continues on with his work. Obviously distracted, he sets his arc welder down and addresses the two.

"Okay Beefy, now I'm not an electrician, but where I come from the thing is either "on" or "off." None of this 'overlapping' business. Sounds to me you're just making excuses for partying instead of doing your %#*&ing job. Here's a hint: start with the generator and make sure it's working. Then you can send it everywhere! Man, is that genius or what?

"And you Mrs. or Ms. or whatever Diamondeye. While I'm sure you're all excited people actually opened up to you about whatever, do you really think it's prudent to go blabbing to people you *think* are trustworthy? What happens if you're wrong with just one person, or hell, multiple people? You can't possibly have any better idea on who's who or what than the rest of us, despite your insistence you know a lot of stuff. Anything anyone has said can be total BS at this point - there's no track record to suggest anyone is lying just yet. You claim to be fighting for what you believe or whatever, which I suppose if read into can really mean anything, but let's for sake of argument let it mean you're actually on our side. Yet your actions would seem to contradict that with your 'let's tell people I think I can trust policy.' Plus you're still lacking in basic observational skill it would seem - the Chemist came forth about three hours before your latest remarks and commented on the burns. While I'm not ready to go as far as Renata did and call you a murderer, I'm letting you know I'm keeping a real close eye on you...

"Speaking of who I want to call a murderer, I'm calling out Civplayah. Just about everyone else that's come forth had something productive to say (yea, even Diamondeye), yet your accusation of TFA would be far from that. From my point of view, your statement brought nothing to the table and has the appearance of trying to start a bandwagon on him. While I'm not defending TFA, I just wanted to point out your accusation of him and how you went about doing it doesn't sit well with me. Let me ask you this: besides his silence, do you really have any real reason to killing him (and no, I won't accept 'he's a politician' as an answer...)? Also to clarify, TFA, it would be nice though if you said something. I'm not exactly letting you off the hook either..."

I believe in order to be effective, one good accusation deserves another.

Mama mia, civplayah, you smell like-a three-week old spaghetti and meat-a-balls.
