NotW XXX: Dark Radiance Game Thread

@civplayah: YOU BROKE MY EQUIPMENT YOU BASTRARD!

Oh, and this deserves mention: The item TFA distributed to me was the wire cutters. I was almost crying at this point, cause it fulfilled the VC of the person I'd died as, but not my current VC.

Now I totally understand why the Silent Ash killed me first. I told Beefy to keep my equipment running, figuring that he'd be innocent with his control of the electricity. This probably tipped civplayah off about my back-up equipment, or that it had somehow been repaired, and got you to kill me. Also, my mention in the 4th post of the sign-up thread both made my innocence obvious and me a threat to you- I'd be suspicious of either the government guys screwing up my order or someone on the train sabotaging it.

You should have just killed Stee, it would have made my ability (and askthepizzaguy's) completely dependent on Beefy staying alive. Killing me gave you no excuse not to provide power to the kitchen, thus letting the Cook raise innocent morale a few times.

And I'm also suprised you didn't kill Khazaar quicker when he had the obvious ability to either heal or protect people with that name. :p

BTW, I never got to figure out what the hell my ability did- what messages would I have gotten, Frozen?

Later, when I was the sharpshooter, I was throwing around those accusations at TFA and the VDF agents because I stopped caring- I'd gone into that role with everyone distrusting me due to rhawn's actions in frustration, and, realizing I was inevitably going to be lynched, I got as frustrated as rhawn had been. So, I decided to take TFA and the VDF agents down with me just to prove they weren't quite innocent.

Seriously, how did you guys miss that? They explicitly came up as non-innocent on death, and yet nobody listened to me that they had a different victory condition. I seem to recall something similar in ATPG's Mafia game- I was calling for oyzar's death repeatedly over the last few days, nobody even stopping to consider he might be a mason infiltrator. The next time I'm accusing a supposed confirmed innocent, listen to me. :p

Lastly, congrats to the Silent Ash, two of you had even ATPG fooled right up to the end, and you just laughed at us innocents being idiots. How did you get the second night kill and the day kills, anyway? And Frozen, what happened to civplayah, just out of curiosity? Did he die like everyone else?

in my defense, my attention was REALLY divided this whole game.

Too many games at once, plus resident evil hosting. Which I need to go do but it's haaaaaarrrddd.

I need a vacation.

@Choxorn: I'll explain how the basilisks work. The Silent Ash were infected by the basilisk spores (which they were also unaware of) two weeks earlier than everyone else, so the new basilisks inside them were much furthur along in development. In fact they were so far along that when their host died, they were still able to burst out of the dead host's body. That was why after Autolycus died a second basilisk was born and began to kill at night. It would have actually been better for the Silent Ash had civplayah died instead of escaping; then Beefy would have had three kills a night. As for the day basilisk kills, that is because basilisks are nocturnal. I'm surprised no one noticed that the only days the basilisk killed at midday were the days without any power put into lighting (hence a pitch dark outpost).

The communications would basically have given you the same info that the VDF ended up doing, except this way you wouldn't have to rely on them. Actually it may have made the VDF appear innocent.

Technically Civplayah would have died about a week after the "Plane Escape" PM. I didn't really plan out what happened though because it didn't have any further affect on the game. If he had made it to a town before he died, imagine the terror a new basilisk would have on an entire village of non-soldiers...

@Diamondeye: The innocent VC was to stop all the night killings i.e. kill all the Silent Ash and VDF (though they hadn't night killed anyone yet). Yes, all the innocents would have all turned into basilisks but that would only be a part of the story and you guys still would have counted as winning.

Had Vandal Warlord survived, I am 99% sure that the VDF would have won. They had a combined strength of 16.

@BL: My number one regret with this game was how little the structures were used. I guess that is partially my fault for not providing enough abilities that affected them, but even a few characters that could affect them decided not to.

Here is what they all did/ contained:
Door to Hangar: Provided access to the Plane
Door to Commander Frozen’s Office: if you had gained access you would have found a letter stating a promise of Commander Frozen that he would return.
Door to Communications Room: Provided access to the destroyed communications equipment, and the new equipment (which was still there by the end of the game), that only the original Choxorn knew about. **However, had the door to this room been subjected to explosives you would have found the tunnel (along with a vehicle for transportation) that Commander Frozen had used to escape, and then later return to, the outpost. This would have given many innocents the option of escaping.**
Door to Arsenal: The Arsenal contained a few rifles, along with TLO's machine gun. Might have helped the innocent's cause a bit to open this place up.
Generator: Had this been destroyed, there would have been no power, which would have given the Silent Ash the day kills for the rest of the game. This would have given the Silent Ash the possiblilty of 6 kills per day = Silent Ash sponsered slaughter fest.

If I missed any questions directly targeted at me just flag my attention and I'll try to answer them.:goodjob:

So, regardless of what happened, it just sucked to be us? What if the VDF killed the Silent Ash and the basilisks before they infected everybody (or was that even possible)?

Actually, it seems the best thing that they could have possibly done was actually kill Beefy. Aside from confusing the hell out of the innocents, it would have left the generator offline with nobody to tend to it and give them 6 kills a day. It would have only worked if nobody suspected civplayah or Auto, though, so in this case, it wouldn't have worked.

The non-backup communications equipment that was already destroyed at the start of the game.

My theory of Beefy was right, but as BL said, my late entry screwed everything up.

Good job to Frozen, good background stories on the characters.

The VDF was in one heck of a pinch when we got to the base. An inactive member who if he had been active would have been able to give us intel on what was going on, as well as suspicions of Silent Ash. But without this, CC and I essentially went into a hostile base that were suspicious of us constantly.

Oh, and Choxorn- we never did the midday killings. It was the Silent Ash. At the second to last day we got the option to kill at night, but we declined.

We declined more due to inactivety at a crucial time due to RL more than anything else though. I wanted to kill ATPG and call it vigilante since he was gonna burst but missed the deadline

Yeah, I know now that you didn't do the midday killings, but it doesn't make you innocent. :p

Wouldn't have worked, I might have been the only one that noticed but I certainlly knew who was holding the flare gun. And while he was holding it, none of us could attack him.

My worry for last few days was how I was going to kill the VDF, and if you did try to kill ATPG, I would have called for you head very swiftly. Then vig killed ATPG myself the following night.

On another note. Who came into my room night 2? I gave my gun away to Winston so the person was spared a bullet.

You would have called for my head? You mean, I would have been lynched if we had tried? Oh wait....

:p

:p

:) true - we had you nailed when Choxorn came up innocent.

One thing that puzzled me - is what were your thoughts of me? Being a nice strong 'innocent' I thought you might have tried to sow doubts of my innocence. You had amuniction to do it as well. Everyone seemed to ignore what was publically said about my stone. Also on night 6, I was going to give you the stone but you never got it and you never questioned why.

They should call me Dr. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

At least whomever killed me should have said...

Krill-
The person you saw in the hallway was me trying to steal Nictel's rope. I accidentally came across you. But, I didn't know it was you, so I ran away without stealing Nictel's rope.

Ah, I thought it was either the other thief or a murderer...I was too scared to carry on the theft, because I figured either way my lowly strength would have been my downfall, I was only strength 2 even with the pistol.

Why did you want the rope, if you don't mind my asking? I was only getting it to shut DE up about me being a thief.

I think some sort of suspicion against me was healthy, Catharsis, but the problem was that too many people begun to suspect me too much. Like, some kind of hysteria because I couldn't root out anymore Ashen, which was an absolutely unreasonable demand on me. Because of this I became less useful and forced to grasp at straws.

I considered for a while before taking on the role I meant to play as exposed innocent. As it is clear from my PM, I had a relatively sure connection to another innocent (Winston) whom I could give info, which meant that my gamble wouldn't be lost if I was killed.

Villains; why didn't you kill me, really?

I thought I might try pattern 2. Stick close to the "leader" of the townie then get them lynched :p

Luckily for me, town acted in the way I expected them to. We eventually got DE lynched, then when they saw he one was innocent, we flipped back. We had a couple of inactives killed. We even lynched one of the agents.

Unfortunately, "leader" I stuck close to after DEs death turned out to be a villain. I thought I was tricking him, but he was tricking me.

I just wanted weapons, Krill. I was afraid of you as well, even though I knew you weren't Silent Ash.

BtW, DE, why exactly were you suspicious of me?

Yeah rope was worthless.

I do wonder though, what was the exact reason for blowing me up?
