Nuke Nes: After Victoria

It's unfortunate, but my router blew up and Netgear will take 2 "business days" to send me a new one.

I'll probably offline for another 2-3 days.

Okay. Thank you Nuclear kid.

I believe I am capable of handling Austria.

Lucky has confirmed he is still Austria. Please come back next turn, for some fun things will be happening :)

I'll join as the Republic of China. (The Japan one).

If you do take it, good luck, you are fighting against the world most powerfull nation.

Besides I dont think you can, unless the Japanese player quit... which I dont think he did.

I am still playing as Japan. Just awaiting the update before writing stories or conducting diplomacy. But if saploft wants to play China as Japanese vassal, that could work for me.

The question is, will it exist after this :mischief:

no, seriously, update is coming soon

Olympics a huge success

In Athens, the first modern Olympic Games have been held. With ten events and three medals each, it was a huge thing to behold even with war and assassinations lurking, as well as having to travel by land due to the Gibraltar strait closing. Many thought teams from Britain and America would win. However, the Spanish, Boer, Abyssinian, Dutch, and Persian teams made incredible showings. Here are the top teams.

1) Russia
2) Boer Republic
3) Greece
4) Spain
5) Lowlands
6) UCSA
7) Persia
8) Abyssinia
9) Germany
10) Great Britain

Mexican-American War Ends

After being forced to sign a treaty with America, the Mexican Emperor found himself in a nation striving for revolution. A few members from the Republican Spanish Party had fled to Mexico, and now have rebelled to create the Peoples Republic of Mexico, a new Socialist Republic. In the new American territories, resistance in the northern territories of Mexico has met the Americans as liberators, while the other Mexicans hate the invaders. In Texas, the resistance is low, but is some what obvious, like Dale Clayton, who refused to compete in the Athens games (Huge part of UCSA’s poor showing)

Japanese repelled
After an incredible start, the Japanese were not going to give up without a fight. Being cut off by supplies, the Japanese stood their ground. Taking civilians as hostages and using them as slaves, the Japanese stopped several partisans from attacking. Still, thousands of Americans were killed, about a hundred per Japanese death. While the Japanese have been driven out due to help from German and Canadian forces, this has war has had the most casualties in civilians or military in North America; December seventh has become a day of mourning, and is now called North Harbor rememberence day (Real place btw near D.C.)

Italy unified

Tuscany had the international community behind it, it had an army behind it, only one thing stood in Mussolini’s way; an ocean. He wouldn’t have to face that enemy though. After an assassination, paid for by an unknown country, Victor Emanuel III laid dead in his palace on Sicily. Before this, Sicilian armies and navies had gone to Tuscany with promises of higher pay, rank, and dental, now the people no longer had the will to fight on, and not even a Dutch blockade could stop the people. Italy was united at last.

Reynoso Assassinated!

After a party held by the Spanish Empress, Reynoso talked with several important guests when several bullets sounded off. The three men, the most powerful men in the country, were dead. The Killer was identified as a Republican national. The Empress Anastasia has seized absolute power, and has named Franco Francisco as Chief of War to replace the old one

Gibraltar revolts

After seeing their brethren in Spain unite and prosper, the people in British occupied Gibraltar have started to revolt. The rebels have been identified as loyal to the Empress, and the Spanish National Party, but there have been no weapon shipments from Spain. The rebels have taken over the city, and coordinating with rebels in Morocco, the Mediterranean

Yugoslavia portioned

After no more than six years of existence, Yugoslavia has become threatened with destruction. With the death of King Alexander, and a few months later, his son Zog, the Slavic people were in an uproar. Several bordering regions joined Austria. The Croats, taking advantage of the new weak government, declared independence. Soon after, the south defected, and became Bosnia. The council of nobles needed to do something, for the Brotherhood of Slavs (unify with Russia) were closing in on their capital. Peter Zarhoven, sensing weakness in Parliament, abolished it and declared himself the ruler of Yugoslavia.

The Falling sun?

One year after becoming one of the most feared nations on Earth, there has been a humongous assault against the Japanese empire. Please see below for more information.

Philippines Liberated

Following their victory in the civil war, the Spanish Empire has recaptured their lands in the Philippines. Aided by the British and Dutch, the Spanish took every island from the pressed Japanese, and the Dutch controls the southern island.

(Spain: -6 Infantry, -1 Battleship Britain: -14 Infantry Lowlands: -8 Infantry, -1 Armored Division, Japan: -5 Cavalry, -5 Infantry)

Japan

The British led coalition landed outside Tokyo for this invasion. Overwhelming numbers repelled the Japanese, and Tokyo was taken. Poison gas devastated the British, and was the number one killer of British troops. Every inch of ground taken is paid for in blood. In the North, the Russians had a bit better luck, due to their poison defense. They have captured the northern island, and have made their way down through, slowly, and painfully.

(Japan:-8 Infantry, -Way to many civilians to count, Russia: -12 Infantry, Britain: -16 Infantry, -1 Battleship)

China

Finally, good news for the Japanese. Due to the decline of British support in the region, the Japanese have used this to drive a huge stake into the Chinese independence movement. Hong Kong, a city that has been British for nearly a hundred years, has fallen to the Japanese. Many flee into the colony of Annan (Vietnam). In the north, a different story has occurred, as many rise up in the name of Communism. They have rallied upon their leader, Mao Zedong, in an attempt to free China, once and for all

North Africa

In protest to incompetent French leadership, the people in North Africa have taken up arms. They have seized several key locations, easily defeating the French irregulars, and control all of French Africa touching the Mediterranean sea. However, friction with Britain has occurred, as chasing French Irregulars across the border has happened, and fire fights between the French and British, as well as with the Rebels and British have become very common.

UCSA will go to war against the Empire of Japan and all her followers and allies. The world must be made safe for democracy. Its peace must be planted upon the tested foundations of political liberty. We have no selfish ends to serve. We desire no conquest, no dominion. We seek no indemnities for ourselves, no material compensation for the sacrifices we shall freely make. Although the lives of countless Americans were lost, hundreds upon hundreds of homes and companies destroyed, and the sovereignty of the nation molested, we do not seek revenge but only saddened to feel for ourselves the oppression and destitution the Chinese, Koreans, and other Asian nations had to endure all these past years. We cannot stand idly in our homes and simply overhear the atrocities commited without remorse through the radios from our living rooms. We cannot stand idly while another human being is stripped of his God's blessings of liberty and freedom, and we will pursue all those who threaten it. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. And by God, we will give them what He had promised them from their birth!
